Location: Nimbus 3

Nimbus 3: contact

He hadn't been on the planet a good hour and already he was making progress. He thought to himself. Or was this just a little too convenient? Then he thought about a saying his wise old Grandmother used to say, rest her soul. She would say, never look a gifted horse in the mouth, or something to that effect, and though he never really knew what it meant, he was sure this was one of those situations, and he laughed to himself and stayed close to his new contact as they made their way to the Boutique she had mentioned earlier in their conversation.

As they moved, he noticed her giving hand signals to her fellow operative. These girls were good. Jeans was asking her who I was, and she signaled back that I was a friend. Jean signaled again and this time Stonebridge could not read the sign. But they kept moving. Was the earlier sign for his benefit? Or were they just being careful? He was about to find out, as Jean ducked into the door way of a shop and disappeared. Lynn waited to see if Jean was being followed and when she was satisfied, she went forward and beckoned for Stonebridge to enter first.

The area was dimly lit, but not so dim that Stonebridge did not see Jean standing behind the counter top with the phaser in her hand. "That's far enough. Now I'd hate to shoot a friend so I'm only going to ask this once. Who the hell are you? And I want the truth the first time out. If I don't believe you, they find your body floating in space, now talk." She ordered

Stonebridge put his hands up so she could see he had nothing in his hand. He took a deep breath and began singing like the Temptations. "My name is Stonebridge. I work for Starfleet Security. I'm an Investigator." He said

Jean read his every nuance, his facial expressions, his body language and his speech pattern. She had just profiled him and she deduced that he was telling the truth.

"Why are you here?" She asked quizzically

He then told her the story about the assassination attempt back on Star Base 400 and who he was searching for. But he did not mention the Luna and her crew or Jones. For all intents and purposes he was on his own, or at least that's what he wanted her to believe.

"So they sent you out here on your own to find possibly the most dangerous being in all four sectors of known space?" Not giving him time to answer she continued.

"By yourself? You must be some bad ass or you think I'm very stupid!" She said

"Was that a question?" Asked Stonebridge with a sly smile on his face.

Jean lowered her phaser and came around from the counter and stuck out her hand to greet him. "Agent Jean Summers, Starfleet Intelligence, a term I use loosely. Welcome to Nimbus 3, butt hole of the Universe. Lynn come, lets get ready to send our report. You come to, I don't want you getting lost or hurt on my watch. And call your man in, I'm sure he's wondering what we have done to you by now." Ordered Jean, Stonebridge smiled and called for Jones to enter the Boutique. She was one very smooth customer. As soon as all four were together, they sat down in a room and Jean activated an anti snooping device. One of the many perks of being an Intel agent at the top of your game, he thought to himself.

"Now we can talk freely. No one can eavesdrop on us." She said and sat back whilst Lynn began opening the comms package they had put together. It was standard fleet issue. But there was nothing standard about these ladies. They were high speed, and on point. As Jean Summers signed onto the system and dictated her report, Stonebridge listened with interest. Every now and again looking at Jones in disbelief at what Jean herself had been through over the last few days. Respect was all he could think to say when she was done with her report. She only allowed him to hear her make her report so she could get him up to speed and not have to repeat herself, and of course full disclosure.

Whatever her game was it worked. Stonebridge could tell it was full disclosure she wanted so, "Ok, full disclosure it is. Our team is in orbit. How can we help you, or you help us get our man?" He asked

"We were just here to gain info, but you guys being here changes the game considerably. Now, we're gonna bring him down. The four of us might have been able to do it on our own. But now that we have back up, we gotta get this guy before he realizes you are here and who you are." Said Jean

"Well you have been inside, you know the basic layout, how would you go about getting close enough to make the grab." Asked Stonebridge

"Well I know where he was when they released me, maybe he is still there, but I doubt it. Fact of the matter is, he is going to check me out, and when he does, if he is as good as they say. He will most likely send his goons for me. When he does, that's probably the only chance we will get." Replied Jean "So I guess I'm the bait." She said with a smile.

That was one way to look at it. But if it was true what they say about this Hybrid Human, it could also be the last mission she ever undertook. The prospect of that did not sit well with Stonebridge. Then he remembered something they were very big on in the Academy and Intelligence training. A phrase that had been made famous by the one and only Mr. Spock. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Stonebridge looked at Jean, she was gorgeous. Not as beautiful as his boss, but for a human, she was pretty well stacked.

"You lay it out and we will formulate the plan together. My team is there to support us, so we are not alone as I'm sure you guessed." Replied Stonebridge

"Ok, contact your people and tell them about us. Then we all throw in together to make this happen." Said Jean

Stonebridge reached into his jacket. He adjusted the bandwidth on his comms device. He called the Luna and relayed what had transpired on Nimbus 3 so far. He made sure they knew that this was our best way into the organization they were here to infiltrate and await a response from the Luna.
