Hades stood off to the side and looked on as Warrant Officer Mikhail Braxton finished off an appointment. His cousin has blossomed here a bit and Hades knew that it had a lot to do with Lai'lira. The woman seemed to bring out the best in Braxton.

Hades smiled and shook his head. He was glad he'd taken Jack up on his advice of relaxation. The shakes seemed to have left him since he'd asked the Marine unit to lend him Braxton for a while.

Hades hated to admit it but life seemed good, he had made friends here and he seemed to be fitting into his new life. He thought back to a few days ago when he'd met with Jack and how that conversation had gone down.

===A few Days Ago===

Jack had been working hard during his shift and was well aware that Deela was quite busy with Station Operations whilst he worked through the roster of starship's that required repairs. He'd met with the Chief Engineer of the USS Cairo and that had a meeting about what was needed to get the ship up and running again.

However he was also starting to become acutely aware during a very busy day that he was rather hungry. Normally he would grab a quick bite to eat, however today he fancied something more substantial and also some company to go with it.

Making his way over from the Docking Ring to the Promenade, Jack headed over to the Infirmary to see if Doc Hades was around. After their recent chat about Deela's son, Jack wanted to return the favour with buying him lunch. Walking into the main room of the Infirmary, Jack located Hades working away at his desk.

"Hey Doc, how goes the day for you?" he asked as an attention getter.

Hades was just finishing an inoculation for one of the ensigns. "Good. Just one moment and I will be with you." Hades smiled.

He picked up a hypo and loaded the dose. His hands slightly shook as he administered the shot.

"Owww," the ensign yelled.

Hades looked mortified "I'm so sorry Ensign. Are you alright?"

The ensign rubbed his neck where the hypo had hit him. "Yeah, sure doc." He hopped off the bio bed. "See ya around."

Hades sighed as he placed the hypo on the tray. He picked up a cloth and wiped his hands. "I'll be right with you Mr. Solomon. "Just need to wash my hands."

Jack took notice of how the Doctors hand were shaking before he administered the hypo spray and also that the Ensign had felt some pain from the injection. It had been a very long time since Jack had felt any pain from a hypo spray and wondered whats was up.

"Everything Ok there Doc? you seem a little shaky there," he enquired.

Hades had finished washing his hands and now wiped them on the towel which he tossed in the soiled linen bin. "I'm file." He tried to brush it off. "Just a bit tired. It's been an exciting week." He walked over to Solomon keeping his hands behind his back. He felt the shakes were easing. "How can I help you?"

Jack noticed his hands shaking and wondered again if there was something wrong. However he decided to bypass the subject for a moment. "Well, speaking of exciting weeks, I thought you could use a break and might fancy a spot of lunch," he explained. "I've been rushed off my feet and with Admiral T'Lar being kept busy with the current situation, I thought I could offer a break from the norm as such."

Hades smiled. "Ahhh there is an old Vulcan saying. I think it's Food good, yum yum." He grinned. "In that spirit. Let's go get lunch."

Jack smiled as they headed out of the Infirmary and onto the Promenade. "So where do you fancy going for lunch Doc? I'm pretty much open to most things...although the Klingon Restaurant can be a handful for both the food and atmosphere..." he added as they walked along.

Hades laughed. "We could try the Klingon Vulcan fusion place. It's new and it would be interesting to see they could fuse those two foods."

As they headed to to the restaurant of choice, Jack decided to try and strike up some more conversation as his worries about Hades were not going away anytime soon. "So, how are things going for you? I know that I've been rushed off my feet with all of the recent starships turning up for repairs or maintenance as well as the Civil War taking place with the Klingons," he explained, hoping to divert any suspicion.

Hades smiled. He was a bit taken off guard so he spoke a little too liberally. "It's been busy. Normally I love busy, but...I've just been so tired. I'll be honest. I'm glad Dr. Thr'elanon is back and the other doctors have been a divinely sent."

Jack could understand his relief that the other medical staff had returned of late and had been on hand to give the Doc a break as it were. That may partially "Its sounds your glad that there is help on hand again," he noticed. "Surely that should allow you some down time maybe?" Jack wondered.

Thinking back to seeing his hands shake during the exam on the young ensign worried Jack somewhat. "Could it be that your just tired and need a rest? I did happen to notice that your hands were shaking when dealing with the Ensign in the Infirmary," Jack offered as they walked along.

Hades had been in the process of sipping his tea when Jack spoke. He took a moment to swallow, the tea tasting like cement. He'd tried to hide things. The symptoms had been getting worse. "I...I suppose that is the case." Hades said, "I guess...I should perhaps take a rest." He looked away from Jack. "It has been a ... difficult time." He wanted someone to confide in. He could speak to Shrivol about it but he wasn't going to risk being taken off duty and things with Shri were still new. "Tell me how your day is going." He tried to change the subject.

Jack saw Hades take the opportunity to try and change the subject and thought that it was time to confront this issue head on. "My day has been as busy as hell, however Doc, its you I'm more worried about here...how long has it been since you've had a day off or even a few hours away from the Infirmary?" Jack asked before pushing on. "You seem very on edge and struggling to focus from what I saw earlier," he pointed out to him.

Hades sighed. So far others had tip toed around this but Jack didn't. "It has been rough. I should take the time off but to be honest with you work is the only thing that's holding me together right now...but I guess I'm not doing a good job there either," he said honestly.

Jack understood the stress and hassle that Hades has been under and it was symptom of recent events that had taken place and kept the Station on its toes. "Its ok to admit that you need help or time off...I'm sure that there are others who can step in and cover for you while you have some time away from duty or have someone look you over to see why your so stressed and the reactions that its causing to you," Jack offered.

Knowing that spending time with Deela when he could was a way of helping him, Jack wanted to help his friend to find out what was wrong.

Hades smiled. "I shall take your advice my friend." He studied the man. "So tell me how have you been? How are things in the romance department. I hear through the grapevine that you and the Admiral are a pair." He grinned.

Jack smiled as he knew that he wouldn't be able to hide this one from him. He knew that it was obvious to others when they had been around each other and spent time together. "You caught me out Doc, yup we're doing really well," Jack admitted. "We're really happy and love spending time together...however we also know how to keep thing professional as well in the workplace..." Jack added.

However he couldn't help but let a wry smile slip as he thought of the time he had kissed her in the office on duty...noting that Deela didn't seem to mind either. "Apart from that, its a busy work schedule with the various ships needing repairs and the Pegasus refit well on course to be finished. I'm hoping that Admiral Bremer will be happy with her once she's operational again."

Hades smiled. "I'm happy for you my friend. Both because of the Admiral and the refit!" He laughed. Just as he was about to finish he got a call from sickbay asking him to come back. Hades sighed. "Well my friend, looks like duty calls."

Jack smiled as he realised their time was up. "As is always the way my friend...just take care of yourself please...from those who care..." Jack offered.

===Present Time===

"...those who care..."

Hades shook his head. The echoed words brought Hades out of his memory.
"What did you say?" He blinked a few times to bring himself back to find Braxton staring at him.

"Mon cher cousin, you need rest. I am not the only one who thinks this. Take it from those who care." Braxton said.

Hades smiled. "Odd...that's what my friend Jack said a few days ago. Okay you've convinced me that you have everything under control here. Shrivol is off today so the sickbay is yours. We have a new doctor coming in today I'm not sure who so you'll have to look on my desk and take her around. Get her acquainted with everything."

Braxton smiled. "Oui. Pas de problème. Go rest."

Hades smiled, hugged his cousin, and headed out.
