A letter for Tom...

Mission: Episode 92 - More Questions than Answers
Location: Splendora Sage Office
Timeline: MD 05 1145 hours

Splendora went back to her quarters. She couldn’t bear to look at the mess. She packed quickly taking only what she needed, what Phoenix, who was still at the kennel, needed. She hurried back to her office and sat down at her desk. She didn’t know if she should do a video message, a voice message, or written. She decided to write.

Splendora pulled out a pen and paper. She had her own stationary a set of purple papers with lavender flowers as a faded background. She walked over to the replicator ordered mint tea and picked up her black pen, the one that had silver glitters embedded into the ink.

Dear Tom,
I don’t quite know where to begin. I guess the first thing I should say is thank you. Thank you for believing me about the box, even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for keeping an eye out for me. If you hadn’t shown up I don’t know that I would have had the strength to get help. I haven’t had too many people believe in me or try to help me so when it does happen It is a little unbalancing.

I should also say I am sorry for putting you in a position where you could have been hurt. If something had happened to you I would never have been able to forgive myself. I will be gone for a few days, I am going with Merah, the owner of The Sparrow, on a little trip. She has something to pick up she said. I’m assuming it’s for her dress shop clients. I’m not sure what but it’s better than sitting here and just thinking about what happened.

I went back to my quarters and they were trashed. I couldn’t stay there either. I need a few days to heal physically and also emotionally. I just hope that you’re not mad at me for dragging you into all of this.

I really do want to take you out to dinner when I get back but if you don’t want to then…I’ll understand.

She folded the letter, slipped it into an envelope, and sealed it. She then took out her personal seal. She heated the wax, allowed it to drip onto the back flap of the envelope and then she pressed the metal seal to the still hot wax. When she removed the metal seal her initials were imprinted into the wax. SWS

She took the letter and went to Tom’s restaurant. After a short conversation with the bartender she gave him the letter and asked that he give it to Tom. With a final thank you she left heading back to her office to pick up her stuff and then she’d go to pick up Phoenix and then onto the Sparrow for dinner and finally off with her friend.
