Hades had gone home after the pool and showered, changed and then decided that he needed a friend. Somehow he'd felt comfortable with T'Lar. She probably saw him as nothing more then a fellow crew member but he was starting to see her as a friend. Lai'lira trusted her too so that worked.

Hair still wet Hades chimed on her door.

Deela went to the door and let him in, "Let me guess. Your hair dryer is broken and you want to borrow mine."?"

He smiled. "No, I prefer to air dry. I have a problem. I need a friend."

"You are lucky then. My duties also include being a friend. Have a seat." She waited for him to sit, "Would you like a drink or something?"

"Yes...anything strong."

She went and got them drinks, "So, what is this problem you are having?"

"Okay so tonight I thought I would relax in the pool before I head to the lab and to work. Well....Dr. Thr'elanon was there. He was swimming laps."

Deela cocked her head slightly to the side, "And?"

"Oh you bet I did something dumb again. I challenged him to a swim off. I've had a rough year so I am not in physical shape for it but I swam and half way through I started to sink. He pulled me to safety and I had a melt down and ran into the locker room thinking I would get away when he asked me why I was being like I was and what was wrong and what was really going on when I tried to tell him that I was just tired. Then I lied to him."

"Why did you do that? You should have talked to him, tell him how it really is." She took a sip of her tea, "Chicken."

Hades sipped his drink. "Oh there is so much to it. It's not the being out of shape..." He looked down. "I'm in trouble, big trouble."

"What kind of trouble?" She inquired.

He looked at her and he knew she could sense what was going on. He knew she could see what he felt and that he was scared out of his mind. He just wondered if she was going to make him say it.

Deela looked at him, "Yes, I am going to make you say it."

He took another drink. He looked down at his glass, now empty.

She leaned in closer to Hades.

"I think I'm...attracted to my department head." He said simply. Still looking down at his glass.

She was a little surprised, "Really. That could be a problem. I have to say that I am not very knowledgeable on that subject. You need to talk to him then. You will never know how he feels unless you confide in him."

Hades gave a sad smiled. "Can't I just go to the airlock and you press the button. I mean...how do I broach the subject." He sighed. "I was married once, to my best friend. She was what I thought I wanted but she must have figured something out. She had her affairs, I didn't mind. The day that she left for Mars colony she said she wanted a divorce told me to find someone else and I was already falling in love with another Junior professor like myself at the Academy and when I was about to tell him my wife's shuttle crashed and I swore I would never be in love again."

He polished off his drink. "When Myst was better we divorced and well I thought all this was behind me but Shrivol...he's different. I feel like we've know each other forever and we work well together." He sighed. "This is really dumb right?"

Deela shrugged, "Not really."

"I know what I'll do. I'll avoid him. We're on different shifts starting tonight. I don't have to do a hand over he's on Morning, I'm on Gamma and I can just leave a note with my report and I don't have to see him! Brilliant isn't it?" Hades said.

Deela sighed, "You can't hide from him forever you know. You really need to face your fears. What is the worse that could happen? Turn you down, fire you?"

"Well the second one is a bit....frightening you know. I actually like it here." He looked appalled at the 'fired' remark. "Oh Gods! I didn't think of that. He could really fire me? I"m....Maybe avoiding him would be best." He groaned. "I'm so stupid. I can't believe I let this happen."

Deela laughed, "I was teasing you silly. Look, you can either tell him and see how he feels or you can not and always wonder. That is all the advice I have."

Hades sighed. "You right." He looked at T'Lar. "Look. You've been amazing with Lai'lira and listening to my little dramas and giving advice and just....being a friend. How about I book you, me, and Lai'lira for a spa day? As a thank you."

Smiling, "I think I will take you up on that. I will have to let you know when I am free."

He grinned. "Name the day and I'm there." He looked at T'Lar. "Thanks...I really needed a friend. Really appreciate this and know that if every you need to talk, I'm there."

"Thank you." Deela stood up, "Now go and do what you need to do. You will have to let me know what happened."

He smiled. "Sounds good." He gave her a hug and headed out.

As he walked down the hallway he decided what he was going to do.

Deela just shook her head.
