Mission: Episode 90 - The Great Relink
Location: Kaleb III Marine Training Depot
Timeline: MD5 0630

It was 0630 on the first Monday of her new command. The 3rd Combat engineers were not much more than a demoralized rag tag troop. She was standing at a conference table. A tall scarred Gunnery Sargent at her left shoulder. He was looking over the plans left from the Starfleet engineers work.. He was easily adapted to the young new officer, It was his job..
"These areas are still affected by local environmental activities.." He said, "The foundations are set but we might want to incorporate some form of counter or stabilizer system, We need to get a closer look.." Deb was still pondering things and didn't respond immediately. "Gunny I'd like to do some EVA drills while we're out there. So give a two and a half hour window for scouting the work area and then we take 45 minutes to conduct basic EVA drills.."
Gunny glanced toward the 1rst Lt. He'd been told to expect the unexpected, This was a good thing...

What Deborah hadn't done, thanks to the bazaar, was address to the General whom else in the chain of command she needed to report to or operate with.. The 3rd had almost No officers, she was one of the first replacements. SO Do her job..
Gunny I want to reorganize each company, I want two squads of explosives and heavy weapons operators, concentrated together, they are the core of each company, Pull them from each squad, we'll start with one company this week at the construction site. The remaining engineers we'll focus operating and acting like light infantry, see whom might have a leaning toward, dark ops.. Get first company put together, we go EVA in two hours..
She tapped her comm. "General Jackson. Do you have a Moment Sir??" She addressed, barely hiding her smile..

=/\=Jackson here. Go ahead. =/\=

=^= Good morning Sir. Sorry to disturb you. I may have jumped the gun. I've Not talked with anyone else in the chain of command, I've started working with the 3rd. I have a few ideas But I think I might should discuss things first??" She remained professional, even if her voice was Very comfortable talking to her Alpha

There was a brief silence on the comm before a response was heard. =/\=Make it brief Lieutenant.=/\=

=^=I'm reorganizing the division on a trial basis, going back to a core team. I'm pulling the EOD and heavy weapons personal into a single unit. Arranging the remainder into standard operating companies,, I'm taking out the first company in two hours for EVA of the construction site, later in the day I will be doing combat drills..=^= She awaiting the likely questions of her sanity, Not afraid in the least...

Now the silence lasted a few minutes before a response was heard.

=/\=Hey, as long as your battalion can still build things, knock things down, blow stuff up, clear minefields, and other high speed engineering type stuff, I don't care. As long as you still maintain a battalion with one headquarters company, and three engineering companies, it is up to you how you want to set it up. Keep in mind that your unit will have partial deployments, so make sure whoever you bring can do all of these things if needed. Shooting people with phasers is very secondary for your unit.=/\=

That was Almost Praise!!! She couldn't help but swell inside.. =^= Understood General, is there anything specific about the construction you would like us to focus on??=^= Realized she'd asked once already But priorities could always change...

=/\=The priorities previously outlines are the same. Just a reminder that units are already training in the domes that were complete, 3 of them I think. Good luck Lieutenant.=/\=

She swelled again at Alphas reassurances.. =^= Understood General, I will give you an update no later than 2130 hours.. I should have a proper schedule for you at that time...=^= It was hard to not sound sweet when she made promised toward her Alpha...

=/\=I'm sorry Lieutenant, I think the comms are getting interference again. I could barely.....=/\= The transmission abruptly ended.

Deborah did an immediate level three diagnostic, it wouldn't cover the entire station, but at lest the marine deck.. She logged the diagnostic and went to check her gear, time to get things started.. Amir, who was effectively immune to space, who had also been silent for awhile, chittered . "I think this is getting oddly interesting..."
