ON:
She arrived at her office and sat down, she recieved a transfer file on a Ensign Nephele Prodromou which will be joining her Diplomatic team. She sat there and read her file. "Impressive" she said to herself as she finished reading.
She sent a message to the Ensign to have her come to her office at her earliest convenience to get acquainted. Now she worked on other paperwork that needed to be done while she waited her arrival.
When she received the message Nephele was standing in the middle of her new quarters wondering exaclty when her belongings were due to be transported over. Perhaps they were held up in a customs procedure and she would need to go looking. Whatever the truth was, all she had for now was the small bag containing essestials she had brought with her.
Though she was not due to report in until tomorrow, the invitation was a welcome distraction, as long as the CDO didn't have a problem with her coming as she was rather than in uniform - a profile only gave limited information about a persons personality so Nephele would simply wing it in what she was wearing now.
It dod not take her long to find the office of the Major General - an unusual background for a diplomat - she pressed the buzzer, and waited.
"Enter," Jewel replied as she stood up once the doors opened up and the young Ensign entered. "I know you're not due to report until tomorrow, I just figured we get to know each other a bit." She said with a small smile as she motioned for her to take a seat. "Care for something to drink?" She asked as she walked towards the replicator.
Nephele smiled, "An espresso please," she said, "I do agree it makes sense to take the time to get to know each other. I think I'll spend the rest of the day getting my bearings, once I've hunted down my belongings that is." She sat as indicated and waiting for the senior officer to bring the drinks.
She ordered the drinks and brought hers over to her. "Major General Jewel Hurd Chief Diplomatic Officer, and you must be Ensign Nephele Prodromou, our new Media relations officer." She said hoping not to have butchered the name.
It had not even occurred to Nephele that it might have been nice to help with the drinks, she took the offer at face value and it appeared to have been taken that way too. "Thank you so much for the coffee," she said, "and you are spot on. Wearing the rank of Ensign will be unusual for me, but I can assure you, I'm good at my job. It seems as though Starfleet might be in good need of a PR professional in the not too distant future, but I guess that's why I'm here."
Jewel nodded as she sat down, "so tell me about yourself what made you decide to join Starfleet and the Diplomatic Corps?" She asked looking at her taking a drink.
They both continued to talk awhile before she noticed she had somewhere to be and they both departed ways.
