Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD1 1700hrs, Following 'Final Preparations'

ON:

After the meetings, Mike met back up with K’Temoc and K’Wor and the three returned to the Bremer’s Quarters. Janice, Christopher, and Becca were already there. Becca and Janice were setting up for a large family dinner while Christopher played. The meal was supposed to be lunch, but with a Changling roaming about on the Station, and Mike’s Mirror Universe Duplicate being transferred tomorrow it had to be pushed back. Thankfully, the Vesta wasn’t due into SB400 until the morning.

“It’s about time you all showed up.” Janice said with a smile as the three men entered. Mike walked over and kissed his wife before picking up a piece of roasted turkey and eating it.

“Since it’s late November back on Earth, I figured a traditional American Thanksgiving meal was appropriate...with a few extras.” Janice said.

“Extras?” Mike asked.

About the same time, Becca set down another serving bowl on the table, “They didn’t eat gagh for Thanksgiving.” An ‘I really don’t want to eat this’ smile crossed her face.

“It’s fresh, I picked it up from Larz this afternoon.” Janice added.

“Are you going to have some?” K’Wor asked his sister.

“You know I don’t eat that!” Becca replied. “I like Klingon food, but I can’t get over how gagh...wiggles as it goes down.”

K’Temoc then walked up behind his niece, picked up an especially active one, and ate it, smiling at Becca.

The table was big with a beautiful center piece, Janice had used a white tablecloth her grandmother’s antique dishware, and of course the English silverware and crystal glasses. And the food, it was enough to feed an army. While the meal itself was clearly an American Thanksgiving theme, it also had some Klingon and Italian additions. Roasted turkey, dressing, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce and whole berries, rice and gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, corn, sweet potato casserole, squash casserole, gagh, bIreQtagh lung, olives and cheese, Pasticcio al forno, roasted veal, braised beef, rolls, pumpkin pie, coconut cake, rokeg blood pie, bloodwine, sweet tea, Italian Red wine, raktijno, and lemonade. In the background, music was playing softly, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martian.

“You’ve out done yourself honey.” Mike said, kissing Janice again.

A moment later the door chimed. Everyone looked around wondering who it might be. K’Temoc walked to the door and a moment later came around the corner with a beautiful woman in a Starfleet uniform with teal trim and Lieutenant pips.

“This is Danielle Cole. She’s part of the anthropological team assigned to the Station’s Science Department.” K’Temoc said with a smile as he introduced her.

Janice walked up first. “I didn’t know you were seeing anyone.” She then looked Danielle up and down, sizing the woman up, before smiling again, “Welcome. I hope you’re hungry.”

“Thank you.” Danielle replied with a smile of her own.

“We’ve been seeing each other about a week now, Becca introduced us actually.” K’Temoc replied.

“Well come on in, everyone have a seat.” Mike said as he helped Christopher into his chair. Mike sat at the head of the table, Janice beside him, then Christopher. To the other side were K’Wor, Becca, Danielle, and K’Temoc at the far end. There was also one open seat beside Christopher, signifying family and friends that couldn’t be there.

Once everyone took a seat and the food was blessed, everyone filled their plates and shared a wonderful meal and convocation together. Once the evening turned to night, everyone retired to the den, sat around the fireplace to talk, reminisce, and sip on their drinks.

“That was an incredible meal, thank you for having me over.” Danielle said thankfully. “But I have to ask...a fireplace?”

Mike smirked, “Holographic. I’m very traditional when it comes to family and holidays, and there’s nothing more...cozy or welcoming as a fireplace.”

Janice looked at the time, “We should be getting to Lwazanda’s, I promised her we’d come.” Mike nodded and took another sip of his drink.

“I’ll stay here with Christopher.” Becca added. “He’s asleep but it’ll give me time to look over a few things for my exobiology class.

“I’ll stay as well. I have Chief O’Brien’s field engineering class, so I better read up on some things too.” K’Wor added.

Janice nodded, “All right. He’s asleep so he shouldn’t be any trouble.” She picked up a gift she’d bought for Lwazanda.

“We’ll tag along, I’m sure Lwazanda wouldn’t mind a few more guests.” K’Temoc added as he and Dannielle stood up, holding hands.

The foursome left and headed to Lwazanda’s.
