Mission: Episode 90 - The Great Relink
Location: Multiple locations

Now into the later part of November, Hondo had not seen any preparation for Thanksgiving, in fact when she asked a lot of the offices in the regiment if the Regiment ever celebrated Thanksgiving they all looked at her with a blank stare. No one had ever celebrated Thanksgiving on SB400, and not the Marines. To the individual Marine Commanders who considered it a waste of time, and effort to hold a Thanksgiving meal on the last Thursday of November.

Plus with the fear of the Borg attacking, every day was geared for combat missions, getting ready for that sudden klaxon of the Borg attacking. Hondo thought “BULLSHIT”; so Honda went back to her office, and began to formalize a plan to celebrate Thanksgiving.

To Hondo, she valued the sense of family, and comradeship; especially among the Marines in her regiment, she felt that spending time together, and giving thanks for being together as a unit would make for a better regiment, and she wanted the families to get out and meet the other families.

As the former Commander of the 47th SFMEU at Galahad Marine Corp Base, she always made sure the men and their families spent time together in enjoying a meal share by each other, and could for a few short hours, relax and be thankful for the things that were important, so she set forth her own plans.

If the Division, nor the other two Regiments didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving, then she would start a new trend, which would b called the “Thanksgiving Dinner”, and she couldn’t care less if anyone objected.

First a memo went out to the entire 327th Regiment that the upcoming Thanksgiving Dinner would be held on the last Thursday of November, the dinner meal would be held from 1200-1500 hrs. Each dining facility handling each of the companies would serve the same meal, consisting of Turkey, Ham, Crab, Lobster, Beef, Ribs, Fish, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, vegetables, salads, hot rolls, and for desert every type of pie especially Pumpkin pie, and others. Followed by coffee, tea, milk, and sodas.

For the Marines in each of the individual company dining facilities, it was very different to see their company commanders and platoon leaders all standing behind the line, dishing out massive helpings of food, or the First Shirt, and his NCO''s waiting on the tables.

The family members all appreciated the fact that they got to meet the other families, and sometimes Hondo would be there in her Class "A"'s having fun with the Children, or even giving her own advice to the young monthers on how to change a toddlers diapers.

Each company would have their own officers serving their Marines, and if they refused; the Captain had her own way of motivating the wayward officers; They would be required to wash the pots and pans, coming from the Thanksgiving meal.

Even if a company or a platoon of Marines from the 327th were in the field on training, or performing occupation duty in one of the Cardassian garrison towns, she made their meals were the same as back on SB400, and that it was hot, and nutritious.

As Hondo was talking to Lt. Burside from C. Company 3rd Platoon, about the upcoming festivities, Hondo got another idea, and for now she'd let it go, and maybe work on the idea for a Christmas Party for the children and the entire Regiment sometimes during the week.

But for now, this was a time to be thankful.
