Mission:
Episode 89 - Futility's Return
Location: Chief of Security Office
Timeline: Present
ON:
A few days later after Hondos visit to the Brig, a message now lay on CDR Lokrans PADD, marked "URGENT" eyes only. The message was a memo to CDR Lokran from Hondo, on the changes that the Regiment would now accept prisoners once released from the brig.
Now instead of a prisoner being released from the brig, to await an NCO, who would arrive to sign for them. Then during the next duty day, they would all face their Commander who would chew them out, deny them privileges for a day or if it was serious for a few weeks, before they faced a summary court martial or given an Art 15 for the crime. To Hondo this was just a slap on the hand, so Hondo wrote out the memo, with the idea that now there would be retribution to include not the prisoner but his entire chain of command.
Now this change did not affect her Marines convicted of serious crimes such as rapes, murder/homicides, assaults on a civilian that resulted in the death or serious injury or were judged to be a danger to the Marines unit; so they were placed in a special brig cell.
Nor did this policy affect any other Marines assigned to one of the other two Regiments, just her own people; and she would make sure their commanders also paid the price for not keeping their personnel under control. They could still be released to their own unit representatives.
Hondo knew that once the Regiment returned back to SB400, for the first week everyone would be busy making sure the Regiment was ready for an unannounced deployment, but it would be those first weeks after being released from the unit, that her Marines would begin to drink, and get into trouble; and this time instead of one of their unit representatives signing for them, they would get a surprise...
Captain Magbangan in Class "A" uniform waiting to sign them out of the brig.....At any time of the day or night.
