Bryant sighed and ran his hand through his hair as he finished up telling Captain K`Temoc about the incident with the young Ensign on the bridge.

" I'll speak with him about his lack of professional respect Master Chief, rest assured. " K'Temoc replied to Bryant's story.

" Thank you Sir, but that's only a small part of the larger issues that I have, I think " Bryant stated, " I don't know, maybe it's time for me to get out and do something different now. I've been serving in Starfleet for a long time now, and it's changed from when I joined. Now, don't get me wrong, I love working with the non-commissioned officers in Starfleet, but I've been stuck at this level for so long, doing the same thing with no where else to advance, no greater contribution to make. I feel like I could offer Starfleet so much more than I can give them here, in my current situation. " Bryant said.

" Well, " K`Temoc replied " You're an excellent non-commissioned officer, the best that I've ever had the chance to work with and Starfleet would be a lesser place without you. "

" Thank you Sir, I try my best " Bryant said before K`Temoc interrupted him.

" I wasn't finished Master Chief " K`Temoc replied, " I haven't known you as long as my brother has, but we've had the chance to speak about you before. "

Bryant's eyes lit up a little brighter when he heard that. " You have? " Bryant questioned.

" Of course " K`Temoc replied, " Ever since you came to work under my brother, he has had the utmost respect and admiration for you both as an non-commissioned officer and as a person. "

" If you keep this up, you're going to make me blush Sir " Bryant replied.

" I'm not just saying that either. If you want to do more for Starfleet, then you need to get off your butt and do it. I have just one question for you Master Chief. Have you ever considered perusing a commission? You have more command experience than a lot of Captains I know. " K`Temoc said.

" I've never really thought about it Sir " Bryant replied.

" Well you should and you should talk to my brother about it. " K`Temoc said, " but I have to go now to the beam down. I'll talk to you later Master Chief. And think about what I asked you. "

K`Temoc stood up and pickup his tray before heading to the transporter pad, leaving Bryant with a lot to think about.
