Mission 76 - Home comings
Location: USS Avenger Bridge Operations Station
Timeline: Current
Little did she know that Avenger would be a part of her path but here she was at operations serving under a Captain that she barely knew. That thought and about a million others kept her occupied as she went through operations on auto pilot all the way to Earth. That was till they established orbit and a transmission came for Captain Greenwood. Holly then switched from the amusement of the situation to what was going on in the here and now. All her training came back into play and because they were home so to speak she didn't question the order for Captain Greenwood to beam down alone. That would leave her and the rest of the crew alone with the ship.
Sighing she went back to the ship once the transmission was over as she had only taken breaks to eat or to sleep since she got on board. She was proving to herself that she was capable of being an officer again despite the fight that it took to get this far for her. Holly didn't care either if people thought she was too dedicated to her work or that she was pushing herself too hard because all that mattered was working to her right now. With the bridge being quiet she was able to do it with ease and not have to fight against a wave of emotions and thoughts just do focus. The ship's power regulated itself for the most part but every once in a while would burst to allow for the engines to maintain the orbit that had become standard for ships to have while in Earth. She was sure that headquarters was monitoring them but still she stayed at her post for she wasn't dismissed or told to stand down by the Captain.
A small smile crossed across her face at the last thought for that was a shadow of her past life coming into the new. The solder and the thinker perhaps could get along but then again they were so different. At least for her and her training. Adjusting in the chair she monitored her panel to make sure that the Avenger stayed in formation with the other ships and maintained an orbit that was expected. What or who called this grand of an event to happen for this many ships to come she didn't know. All she knew command's orders were never questioned only followed. That's all she had to keep saying to herself to keep focused and calm.
