Mission: Episode 88 - Memories Lost, Trouble Found
Location: Random Base Locations
Timeline: MD4-1900hrs.

As the brothers walked out of their quarters, they immediately started to take in their surroundings. This was their first time off world, and they wanted the full experience. Titus looked at Holly, "Where to first?"

Holly watched the two boys take in the station and then when spoken to answered the question, "Was thinking about taking you to the main part of the station where the venders are located at for food. To see what you both would like to eat."

Both the boys nodded to her in agreement. Octavian spoke this time, "Our life is in your hands." The boy who rarely joked even gave Holly a wink after he spoke. Even Titus noticed, but voiced no complaint. He was happy that his uptight brother was loosening up.

Holly smiled seeing that Octavian was loosening up a bit. "Alright. Just make sure you both tell me if you got food allergies. The last thing I want is for your Father to get upset because of what you ate." She was doing her best to socialize with them and get them use to the station. After all their father did spend allot of time here so they needed to know what he was up against these days.

Titus answered, "No food allergies that we know of. The only thing I worry about is that fake meat our Father warned us about." The boys got more excited as they walked through more of the station. Octavian then asked a question, "So how did you meet our Father? He hasn't really been the social type since Mother died."

"Just by working with him on a mission. It took him quite a while to ask me if it was alright to socialize outside of work and then sometime after that before he felt that I was alright to be around the two of you. He is very protective of you both." She then smiled a bit and looked at Octavian before looking to Titus. " I don't blame him for being that way as you both are very valuable. At least where I come from...our children our the lifeline for us and so we are very careful who is around them."

The boys looked at each other, as if surprised by Holly's statement. They were both coming close to age by Roman standards, and did not think they did not need the same care children would require. They eventually made it to an eatery on the Promenade deck. After they got seated, they looked at Holly.

Silence followed her comment and she wondered if they understood that no matter how old they got their parent would still protect them. No matter as they did make it to an establishment to eat. She was not one to eat out much and mainly ate in her 'bunk' so this was all somewhat new to her. Handing the boys a PADD with the listing of what was available she spoke to them, "Everything that they offer is on the PADD. Just got to pick out what you would like to eat and drink for a meal. That way when someone comes around for an order you can tell them what you would like."

Impressive, that is what both boys thought about the menu they were reading. The concept of replicated meals was very new where they came from, and not common. Neither of them cared, as long as the food was good. Titus went with the Softshell Crab, while Octavian preferred to roast pork. To the surprise of the server, both boys went with white wine to drink with their meal, which was acceptable for boys their age back home.

Holly was a bit surprised when they ordered white wine but then remembered that they might look human but they weren't so what is acceptable for them might be different. Holly ordered a chicken salad as she wasn't one to eat a lot when out in public let alone on the move. She was still trying to convince her system that food was alright since she had gotten use to field meals during her last assignment.

As they enjoyed their meal, Titus asked Holly, "Holly, can you tell me about your world?"

While they were enjoying their meals Holly was just expecting to have silence when Titus piped up with a question about how her world was. At first Holly had to take a moment before answering his question. "I haven't been home since I became of age to be on my own. What I remember of home is that woman did most of the decision making in the family and being told that it wasn't nice to be verbal when at home. We talk to each other with our minds within my family. I really couldn't tell you much because since then I've been deployed and on assignment hiding most of what I am to others so not to have them on edge when being around me."

Both boys listened intently as they continued eating. Octavian spoke, "Well, we just came from our world. In fact, this is our first time traveling in space. Only those that either serve in the Republican Navy, or Star Fleet get to spend time off world. That, and the diplomats. We have many cities, but more wilderness than what we hear of Earth. Our family has been in politics for 5000 years, and it looks like it will stay that way. At least on my end," he said as he stared at his brother. "Titus wants to be a Marine, like our Papa."

Titus interjected, "That's because we have Octavian here to save the Republic. He is well versed in the art of political intrigue. I am not. I, for one, do not want to be bored for the rest of my life. Our House can be both political, and Marine oriented I think." He stuck his tongue out to Octavian, who just raised his eyebrow.

Holly just smiled letting the boys play with each other like they were before speaking, "Sounds logical that your family can be both political and military since there are two of you. Your Father is very proud of you both." Holly at this point was done eating as her training made it hard to just enjoy food anymore. She was just carrying on conversation with the boys at this point to make sure they ate proper and were not rushed.

And eat they did. Their main courses were done in no time. While the food was delicious to them, they were more focused on their conversation with Holly. Holly might not have known it, but she won both of them over, despite Octavian's initial reservations. When Giaus returned, he would consider Holly's mission accomplished.
