Mission: Episode 88 - Memories Lost, Trouble Found
Location: Starbase 400, Ops
Timeline: MD5, 0645hrs *Current*

ON:

The day after the assassination attempt on Rodek’s life had dawned early. It wasn't a day Bremer or Worf were looking forward to though.

During the night, no additional information had been learned regarding the attempt on Rodek’s life the day before, or Imperial Intelligence’s possible role. On the positive side, no additional assassination attempts had been attempted since Commander Lokran had captured the two remaining assassins.

Bremer had been in Ops early, and he was checking the status of the IKS Gorkon and her escorts when Malor, Worf, K’Temoc, Lokran, Roebuck, and Talan escorted Rodek into Ops. Marine Sergeant Cather and Private T’ork soon followed and took positions beside the turbolifts.

Worf walked over to Bremer, “I’ve told Rodek about the charges and that he’s being sent back to QonoS to face them. I also told him about yesterday’s attack and he insists he has no knowledge of II or who those Klingons might be.”

Malor then added, “The assassins we captured last night have already been transferred to the Gorkon’s brig under heavy guard.”

Mike nodded as he walked over to Rodek. Rodek eyed Bremer, the look on his face was that of confusion yet unafraid. Bremer waited a moment as he looked back into Rodek’s eyes, then he said, “chaq SoH Hegh toH jup”

Rodek gave a respectful nod, “qatlho' qaH”

Mike nodded back as Rodek and Malor stepped over to one of the new Transporter Pads in Ops. As Malor turned around he looked over at Bremer. The two had barely spoken while Malor had been on the Station, and while Malor understood Mike was still bitter of his ‘betrayal’ eleven years ago, Malor still held this man whom he’d watched grow up in high regards.

“K’Wor! jIyIn toH, Hegh pujbe'!”

Bremer looked up toward his old mentor and allowed a brief smile to cross his face. He didn't ‘hate’ Malor, the old Klingon had proven himself in battle eleven years ago and he was again proving to be an honorable man now helping to defend Rodek...still Mike was bitter about the betrayal years ago. Once someone had betrayed Mike’s trust, it took a lot to earn it back, but Malor seemed to be doing everything to earn it back and that
did account for something.

“Qapla', pagh jIHeghDI' Hegh vItu', Malor.” Bremer replied.

After a brief moment, Archer spoke up, “Admiral, General Klag signals they're ready.

Mike nodded, “Energize.”

A few moments later, Rodek and Malor were standing on the Bridge of the IKS Gorkon. Rodek looked around, taking in his surroundings.

Klag looked at Rodek for a moment, then motioned to chairs over at a side station. As Malor and Rodek took their seats, ToQ spoke up from the Weapons station. “The Bridge is sealed General, and the Kreltek and the Hopliq have formed up.”

Klag nodded, the looked over at Lesket at Flight Control, “Set course out of this system and toward the Homeworld. Maintain impulse until we clear their outer marker, then cloak and go to warp seven. Klag then looked over at B'Oraq who sat at the Operations station before taking his seat. They were the only five on the Bridge, and like Klag had promised he was doing what was necessary to keep Rodek alive on his trip back to QonoS.

Klag trusted his current Bridge Officers, but he was also heeding the warning and wishes of Worf and Bremer. He’d stationed his XO Commander Laneth in Engineering with his Operations Officer Lieutenant B’Olgana making sure there was no problem down there. He also had his Security Chief, Commander Lokor and his Weapons Officer Bekk Lojar stationed in the corridor outside the Bridge to ensure no one attempted access. Klag, the honorable warrior, was keeping his word.

The Klingons vessels soon moved away from Starbase 400, passing Kaleb IV, and headed for open space.

Ops

Bremer watched the viewer for a few moments as the Klingon vessels departed. By this time, Daniels and Crusher had made their way back to Ops.

Wesley walked over to Worf, “Captain, Perim is aboard the ship and completing final checks, we're ready to depart.”

Mike had overheard Crusher and he turned around. “Where’s the Warrior off to?”

“We’re to go to DS6 to pick up a few crew replacements before setting off on a three month patrol along the Gorn border.” Worf replied.

Mike nodded before replying, “I’ll be taking the Pegasus out this morning too. Engineers have been making tweaks to the slipstream systems to...”

Before Mike could finish, he was cut off by several alerts going off in Ops.

“Report.” Mike said aloud.

“Incoming message for Kaleb IV, its Captain Dow. He says New Hampton is being raided by Pirate vessels, markings match those of Clark’s old group.” Archer announced.

Crusher rushed over to the vacant Tactical Two station when the alerts sounded, “Confirmed Admiral. Seven Pirate vessels are in low orbit of Kaleb IV above three cities including New Hampton. They're firing on Starfleet installations and beaming up what appears to anything of value. Latinum, computer tech, weapons. They also beamed down several people who appear to be going through homes for valuables.”

Starbase 400 was on the far side of Kaleb IV from New Hampton, Kaleb IV's Capital City, and the Station was unable to provide any support. Bremer acted instantly. “Gillo, activate the Station’s orbital maneuvering thrusters. Adjust our orbit so the Station is above New Hampton as quickly as possible. Advise Commander Coleman to boost power to the Structural Integrity Field and to the thruster.”

Mike then looked over at K’Temoc. “Have Doctor Brislan ready medical teams and Colonel Jackson ready a Marine Regiment to beam down.”

K’Temoc nodded, "Right away."

“Archer, signal the Tirpitz, have her provide support to Kaleb IV.” Mike ordered, but he also knew the Tirpitz was at Kaleb III with a skeleton crew on a training mission, and most of her Senior Officers on Kaleb III looking for suitable sites for a possible Marine base, and it would take them time to respond.

Mike then tapped a command on the communications station, “Starbase 400 to General Klag.”

“Klag here.” Came the reply.

“General, Pirate vessels are raiding New Hampton on Kaleb IV. Starbase 400 is on the other side of the planet, can you assist?” Bremer said.

“We will send these Pirates to Gre'thor!” Klag replied as the channel closed.

Bremer then started walking toward the Transporter Pad. “K’Temoc, Archer, you're with me. Worf.”

Worf nodded, he didn't need Mike to say anything else. Crusher and Daniels followed their Captain to the other Pad.

Bremer, K’Temoc, and Archer beamed to the Pegasus while Worf, Crusher, and Daniels beamed to the Warrior.

IKS Gorkon

“Bring us abound for another run.” Klag said from the center chair. They already had one Pirate ship burning and other damaged. As the large Qang class ship turned, two Hawk class raiders made attack runs on her hitting the forward shields. A moment later, both were driven away from the Gorkon by the Kreltek and the Hopliq. The Gorkon made an attack run on a larger Blade type Raider when suddenly a Dagger type Raider decloaked and attacked the Gorkon from above with stolen Hellfire torpedoes from one of Kaleb IV’s own defensive arrays.

The Gorkon shook from the massive impact to its hull. One of the torpedoes hit close to the Bridge and threw everyone hard to the deck. Klag’s head hit the bulkhead forward of his chair and was knocked out, bleeding. B’Oraq had also been thrown from her chair, landing on Klag. After a moment to clear her head she started to check him over. Toq and Leskit were also injured. Toq with a broken arm, Lesket with a broken leg. Malor seemed uninjured compared to the others and he sat up to look around. Beside him, bleeding from the head was Rodek. He’d hit the edge of the console he was sitting at, and then hit his head again on the deck when he fell to it.

Malor turned Rodek over to make sure he was breathing, but as he turned he saw Rodek looking back at him.

“Governor? This is the Bridge of the Gorkon!” Rodek said looking around.

“You, know where you are? Who you are?” Malor asked.

“I am Rodek, Son of Noggra and this IS the IKS Gorkon.” Rodek looked at Malor and blinked a few times, “I thought you were still on Rue Penthe. How did I get aboard the Gorkon?”

The Gorkon shook again from another hit.

“We're in battle?!” Rodek stood and saw the carnage around him.

Toq had pulled himself up to the Weapons console. “Shields are down to fifty percent. We have two ships off our port quarter.” He shook his head again, trying to focus.

Malor walked over to the Operations position and looked over the monitors.

Rodek looked around again. Klag was still on the deck, unmoving and Leskit was trying to claim into the chair at the Flight Control console. Rodek helped his old friend into the seat, then looked around at several of the monitors around the Bridge as his instincts took over.

“Leskit, bring us to 201 mark 12, full impulse. Toq, ready torpedoes.” Rodek ordered...sounding more like Kurn than Rodek.

Toq looked over at Leskit and after a brief second both warriors smirked before carrying out their orders. The large Qang class ship turned and increased speed. Rodek slowly lowered himself into the Command Chair. He looked down at Klag again, then back to the screen. He waited a moment and gritted his teeth, “mev Hoch! baH!”

The Gorkon quickly slowed to a stop allowing the Blade type Raider that had been chasing it to pass by and below the Gorkon. As it did, the Gorkon fired several torpedoes and disruptor blasts. The Klingon weapons ripped into the Pirate vessel, causing it to slow. A moment later, several more disruptor pulses tore into the damaged ship, fired by the Kreltek and the Hopliq, destroying the Pirate ship.

The Gorkon started moving again as one of the remaining Hawk type raiders fired on it.

“Pirate Dagger class, bearing 74 mark 303. Seventy-five thousand Kellicams, making a run toward the planet.” Toq said.

“Intercept course, fire when we're in range.” Rodek ordered.

A few moment later, the Gorkon was on the tail of the Dagger and her Disruptors were ripping into it. Then, without warning a large explosion shook the Gorkon.

“Our number two disruptor bank has overloaded and exploded. All weapons systems are down!” Toq reported.

“I’m trying to reroute power now, but the explosion has fused several power transfer conduits and we've lost several EPS couplings too.” Malor added.

“Bridge to Engineering, we need power to our torpedo launchers!” Rodek ordered over the comm.

A moment later, the reply came back, “Who are you?”

“Laneth, this is Leskit. Do as Rodek ordered.”

“Rodek! What happened to General Klag?!” Laneth asked.

Leskit replied, “He’s hurt, the Doctor is treating him, do as Rodek says, now!”

A few tense moments passed. The Dagger class raider broke off its attack on the planet and turned to face the Gorkon.

Finally, over the comm, “Partial power to the forward launcher restored, but it’s only enough for two torpedoes.” Laneth announced.

Rodek glanced at Toq before standing and clinched his fist as the two ships closed in on each other. Ge gritted his teeth as he said, “BaH!”

The Gorkon fired two torpedoes, both hitting the smaller Dagger. However the Dagger also launched a torpedo of its own, hitting the Gorkon.

“They've lost maneuvering power.” Malor said aloud.

The two ships continued on toward each other on a collision course when suddenly the Dagger class ship exploded into a billion burning pieces. A second later the Pegasus-B and Warrior streaked passed the Gorkon. Within moments, the Tirpitz also streaked into view, firing on one of the Hawk type raiders as it turned to run.

“The remaining Pirate ships are running back to their holes in the Triangle!” Toq reported.

“The Pegasus and Warrior are hailing.” Malor advised.

“On screen.” Rodek replied.

A moment later, Bremer and Worf were on the Gorkon’s viewer. Rodek leaned back in the command chair as he looked at both men, men he knew well again. “Honorable Warriors.”

“Rodek?” Worf replied.

“Are you all right?” Bremer asked as he looked at Rodek's head wound and blood running down his face.

“We have moderate damage, but we are operational.” Rodek replied.

Bremer smirked, "Cognitive recalibration."

A moment later, B’Oraq helped Klag to his feet. He eyed Rodek for a moment before turning to the screen, “Rodek did well. He turned back to face Rodek as Rodek stood, “You have re-earned your honor in my eyes, and my trust. nuqneH.”

Rodek gave a respectful nod. Rodek’s expression then changed. He looked around the Bridge for a moment, making sure everyone present he could trust. “General, we need to get to the Homeworld at once. I believe there is a plot being planned on the Chancellor’s life.”

Klag glanced at screen, then to Rodek and nodded.

Bremer looked at Rodek, then at Klag before saying, “Rodek, are you working for Imperial Intelligence?”

Rodek paused, before replying. “No. When I returned to the Homeworld I was recruited by II, by a Klingon named Graval. I overheard a convocation between Graval and someone named Re’al. When I tried to see the Chancellor, I was dismissed.”

“Who attacked you on the Homeworld in the bar?” Worf asked.

“Two of Graval’s associates.” He turned and looked at Klag, “Killing T’ral was a mistake. He grabbed me from behind and I thought it was one of the assassins.”

“Rodek, why were you headed for DS9? You were on your way there when you were injured and lost your memories.” Bremer asked.

“The assassin that got away from me on QonoS was heading there. I don’t know who he is.” Rodek replied.

“General, the Warrior will escort you back to the Homeworld. We will advise Deep Space Six that we’ll be there a little...late.” Worf added.

Klag nodded. He then unsealed the Bridge. In the corridor outside, Lokor and Lojar where just regaining consciousness. “B’Oraq, bring medical supplies here, you will treat us on the Bridge while we're in route to the Homeworld. Lokor, go with her.”

Rodek helped Klag into his seat, then Klag looked back at the screen. “Fleet Admiral Mike K’Wor Bremer, Son of ma’gh. You have earned my respect. We will stop this plot against the Chancellor.” With that, the channel was closed.

The three Klingon ships, joined by the Defiant Class USS Warrior, formed up and left the area, heading for the Klingon Homeworld of QonoS. Bremer ordered the Pegasus to take up orbit of Kaleb IV and stated beaming teams down to the surface to help relief efforts. The Tirpitz also entered orbit of Kalek IV to support relief efforts. Jackson’s Marines and Brislan’s Medical Teams were already down there.
