Mission: Episode 88 - Memories Lost, Trouble Found
Location: Starbase 400, Sickbay
Timeline: MD4 1015 hrs, Following 'Talking with the Admiral'

ON:

After leaving the Briefing Room, K’Temoc checked out the repairs to the Yorktown, then found himself outside Sick Bay. He'd only met Kurn once, and only met him as Rodek once
before as well. K’Temoc just didn't believe the whole situation was a good one, nor was it being handled well.

It was clear Rodek had killed T’ral, but it was in the heat of battle after T’ral had grabbed him from behind. While in the Federation, that could be called Manslaughter, in the Klingon Empire it just meant T’ral was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Usually, something like this wouldn’t be given a second thought or maybe T’ral’s family might want
blood, but a trial? It wasn't unheard of, but it wasn't common.

After a few moments, Malor walked up behind K’Temoc. “What are you doing here?”

K’Temoc glanced back at Malor, “I don't believe turning Rodek over to the Klingons is the best thing.”

Malor nodded, “Perhaps, but perhaps it is best to face your accusers, prove your innocence. That is an honorable act in itself.”

K’Temoc turned to face Malor as the elder Klingon continued, “When I returned to the Empire after realizing what Toral was really up to after he'd recovered the Sword, many in the Empire wanted me killed as a traitor, including Martok. When I stood before him in the High Council Chambers, I knew I was going to die, but I knew I'd die with my honor intact. I stood before the Council and Chancellor and told them exactly why I did what I
did, according to the old stories, and it was the Emperor himself that stood there to defend me.”

“You were still sent to Rura Penthe.” K’Temoc replied with a smirk.

“Yes, but I wasn't killed.” Malor replied with a grin, “My honor was intact and when the Empire needed me again, the Chancellor himself knew he could trust me because I’d been honest with him in my darkest hour.”

Malor paused and looked through window at Rodek, “His path will not be easy, but I will be there to defend him as Emperor Kahlass was for me.”

“You had your memories, Rodek doesn't, and his accuser may use that against him.” K’Temoc replied.

“Klag is an honorable man, he wants justice...and perhaps he’s still bitter Rodek challenged his honor all those years ago. I will talk with him, and I will stand up for Rodek.” Malor replied.

K’Temoc nodded. He’d known Malor a long time, was good friends with his son K’Val growing up, and even though the Toral incident he still held Malor in high regards. If Malor said he would defend Rodek, he knew he'd be defended well.

“Why did you tell Martok that Rodek was here?” K’Temoc bluntly asked.

“I wasn't aware of Rodek’s charges, or that he was being sought. Martok asked why the Warrior suddenly diverted here, and I told him Rodek was on Starbase 400.” Malor explained, “Well, after having to deal with his boQwI' tu'HomI'raH, Re’al.” Malor replied, obviously not happy with Re’al. “He asked me to contact him again once we found out why Rodek was here.”

The two men started walk away from Sick Bay, K’Temoc nodded to the Security Officer, Ensign Vega, who was standing guard outside Sick Bay. K’Temoc looked over at Malor as they walked, “How is K’Val?” As they rounded the corner they heard the start of a scuffle behind them. K’Temoc turned around and looked back down the corridor toward Sick Bay. He saw three Klingons attacking Vega and while the Starfleet Security Officer fought bravely, he was just overwhelmed.

With Vega out of the way, the Klingons forced the door open and into Sick Bay. The Security Officer inside didn’t have a chance as he was hit from behind. K’Temoc and Malor rushed down the corridor. Two of the Klingons backed out back into the corridor. K’Temoc got there first and delivered a perfect Flying Side Kick to one of the Klingons. While the other turned to avoid K’Temoc, Malor grabbed him and the two began to fight.

K’Temoc helped Vega up, and the Security Officer went straight for the Klingon K’Temoc had just knocked down and tried to subdue him.

K’Temoc went into Sick Bay and found the third Klingon leaning over Rodek with a qutluch. K’Temoc grabbed the Klingon’s arm and spun him around, away from Rodek who was still sedated. The Klingon grunted and took a few quick swings at K’Temoc but the blade missed. When the Klingon drew back, K’Temoc took a quick swing of his own, punching the Klingon in the face. As he stumbled, K’Temoc moved in, grabbing the Klingon and slamming him
against the wall. After a quick headbutt, K’Temoc flipped the Klingon up and over, down to the deck, then knocked him out another with a quick punch to the face.

A moment later, Malor came into Sick Bay with Vega. Vega checked on the other injured Security Officer.

“The other two got away.” Malor said with a gruff tone, it was obvious he was angry.

K’Temoc tapped his commbadge as two Medical Staff members came out of hiding at the back of Sick Bay. “Security Alert in Sick Bay. Be on the lookout for two Klingons.” K’Temoc paused for a moment, there were hundreds of Klingons coming and going from the Station right now with the three Klingon vessels docked and their crews allowed aboard for shore
leave. “Neither of the Klingons are wearing rank insignia or House Crests.”

The Medical Staff started checking out the injured Security Officers while K’Temoc looked over the Klingon he knocked out. Malor knelt down beside him, “He is with II, look at the hilt of his qutluch.”

“An Imperial Intelligence marking. Why would Imperial Intelligence want Rodek dead?” K’Temoc asked.

A moment later, Bremer, Worf, Klag, and Roebuck arrived in Sick Bay with weapons drawn.

“What happened.” Bremer asked as they put their weapons away.

K’Temoc stood up, qutluch in hand. He walked over to Klag and shoved the weapon at the General’s chest while looking in his eyes. “Three assassins knocked out the Security Officers and attempted to kill Rodek. One of them,” he pointed back to the Klingon laying on the deck, but kept his eyes on Klag, “dropped this. It has Imperial Intelligence markings.”

Klag looked down at the weapon, then back into K’Temoc’s eyes, “What are you accusing me of?”

Worf walked over to the Klingon and gave him a look over as well, “This is Graval. He was a member of Imperial Intelligence when I was Federation Ambassador to QonoS. He was later removed from II for disobeying orders.”

Klag, carefully, walked over to look over Graval too, K’Temoc still staring a hole through him. “That is Yaval lagh, an Assistant Weapons Officer aboard the Gorkon. He came aboard while we were en route here with two other crew replacements.” Klag looked Worf, then Bremer, and then back to K’Temoc, “I promise you, I did not know he was with II or planning to kill Rodek. The only people who even know about Rodek are those of us in
this room, Chancellor Martok, Toq, and Leskit.”

“And Admiral Sisko and Doctor Bashir.” K’Temoc added.

Mike thought for a moment, he didn't believe any of them would order the assassination of Rodek. “Klag, give us all the information you have on the other two ‘replacement crewmembers’ that came aboard with this one. I want Commander Lokran looking for them aboard the Station. In the meantime, I want additional Security and Marines in all vital locations, at all airlocks, shuttle bays, and transporter rooms. We’re locking the Station down until we find them Gentlemen.”

Klag nodded, “It will be done. I will have Warriors I know are loyal assist your Security and Marines.”

Bremer paused a moment, then nodded, “nuqneH.”

“I’ll have Mister Daniels report to Commander Lokran with a few Security Personnel from the Warrior. I’ll also have Mister Crusher report to Ops to assist in sensor sweeps of the Station.” Worf added.

Mike nodded, then paused a moment before looking back at Klag. “You need to depart, tonight if at all possible. Someone’s ordered a hit on Rodek. They’ll expect us to keep him here. When you're ready to depart we’ll beam him aboard.”

Klag stepped forward, “You have my word, Rodek will arrive on the homeworld alive. I will not leave his side.” He looked over at K’Temoc, then back to Bremer.

“Neither will I.” Malor added.

Klag and Malor shared a respectful nod, and Mike was encouraged Klag was willing to defend Rodek. Then Klag added, “I will also have Toq and Leskit aboard the Gorkon while we travel to the Homeworld. Their ships can operate under their Executive Officers on our way back.”

Worf nodded his approval. “I believe most of the crews of the Klingon ships are unaware of these events, and we are only dealing with a few people. The question is, who sent them to kill Rodek and why.”

“And are they really working for II or someone else.” Malor added.

“This could also explain why someone attacked Rodek on the Homeworld in the first place.” Roebuck interjected.

“Dig into their backgrounds, see if there’s anything linking them to Rodek, Imperial Intelligence, anything.” Bremer said to Roebuck. Roebuck nodded and headed back toward Ops.

Mike then looked over at everyone else, “Even after Rodek is beamed to the Gorkon, we'll keep a Security lockdown in place here and on the Station itself a little longer...giving the impression Rodek is still here, sedated and resting.”

A moment later Warrant Officer Talan arrived in Sick Bay with Sergeant Cather and Private T’ork.

Bremer looked over at them, “No one comes or goes without my authorization. This Sick Bay wing is being totally locked down.”

Talan nodded, “Understood Admiral.”
