Mission: Episode 88 - Memories Lost, Trouble Found
Location: USS Tirpitz
Timeline: MD4 1005hrs, Following 'Informing her Staff'

ON:

Lennox was relaxing in his quarters when he got the word to report aboard the Tirpitz. It had been a while since Danny has been aboard the old Excelsior class vessel so he read over the orders carefully. They were signed by 'Major Morris', the new First Marine Division XO, so Danny figured this would be a training flight. That suited him just fine, not that he ever shied away from duty, but because he was happy there hadn't been another disaster that they Marines were having to respond to this time.

After getting his things together, Lennox left his quarters and headed for the Tirpitz.

Morris was indeed leading the training run and had just boarded the ship. The Tirpitz was currently at bay 21 and the new Marine XO entered without issue. "Computer," he said as he got into the nearest turbolift that would get him to the bridge. "Status."

The computer chirped. ~"Currently in stand-down at docking bay 21 of Starbase 400. Shields, weapons, and non-critical systems offline. Power systems, warp core, and all other essentials are reporting fit for duty. You are currently the presiding commanding officer."~

Percy nodded. "Good," he said to the empty air. The lift let him out at the bridge and he entered as the doors hissed open. A skeleton crew of enlisted officers were prepping the vessel - only two were on the bridge and they came to attention. "At ease," he said as he went to the command chair and sat. It was then that the comm beeped quite unexpectedly.

=/\=Good morning Major. Sorry to interrupt you, but when you have a chance, I need you to take a detour during your cruise. I will need you to drop by Kaleb III, and look for a possible site for a new training base/supply depot. It is a Class K planet, so take the necessary precautions. I will be speaking to Commander Coleman about the project while you are gone. In the meantime, he will be sending an officer to assist with the site evaluation.=/\=

"Acknowledged, General." The new rank still seemed funny. "We'll obtain a full analysis and report. Tirpitz out!" Morris nodded with a smile - some meat to the mission would be good.

A few minutes later, Lennox stepped foot onto the Bridge of the USS Tirpitz. He looked around and saw a Major sitting in the command chair. He figured this would be the Division's new XO, so he walked over and snapped to attention.

"Major, Captain Lennox reporting for duty."

T'Lyn also walked aboard the Tirpitz around the same time as Captain Lennox. She walked into the bridge and found the new Marine Division XO there as well as Lennox. "Major T'Lyn reporting as ordered Major." She said looking at him.

Percy stood for both of them and nodded with a return of their salutes. "Major, Captain, welcome aboard." He paused. "I am glad we could have everyone here. The rest of the temporary crew will join us to fill out postings here on the bridge and elsewhere."

The turbolift doors opened once again, and Gaius walked out of it. He was clad in the marine battledress uniform, which is what he normally wore on duty. He never met the new XO, but Percy was the only other Major on the Bridge. He walked up to him, "Staff Warrant Officer Aquila, reporting as ordered."

And then they were all there, almost all at the same time. "Greetings, Officer Aquila." Percy paused again. "At ease all of you."

The marine XO decided to do a bit of a mini briefing right there. "You will be my senior marines here on this ship. Only this is not completely a training mission as planned, per se... we have orders to explore nearby Kaleb III. We will drop a small team down and perform some analysis of the system. It seems us marines need a bit of stretch room outside the starbase." He grinned.

“Major, request permission to have Corp...Sergeant Vaal and Corporal Schmidt go along with us. Both could use the experience Sir.” Lennox requested.

"I welcome it, Captain." Morris nodded. "If there are any others that could use a good trial run, bring them. For starting as a training loop, this mission may actually prove to be quite useful."

Back on the Starbase, Lt. Gilmore was working on several projects in Science Lab 4. While deep in thought, she heard a beep on the nearby comm panel and looked over to see it was a new order from Commander Coleman. He was ordering her to report to the Tirpitz and head over to Kaleb III to do a survey for him for the new Marine base that they were thinking about adding on planetside. It had his orders, as well as Captain L'Verrem's signing off. So, she finished her most recent work in the lab and put everything on standby.

She went by her quarters and got a few light things, just in case they wouldn't be back in a day or two and reported to the docking bay in which the Excelsior-Class USS Tirpitz was currently docked. She got into the nearest turbolift and headed to the bridge to see that she was one of the last crewmembers to report. She looked around to see who was the highest ranking marine onboard was to report to and found Major Morris.

She walked over to him and said, "Lieutenant Ariel Gilmore reporting for duty sir. I was asked to join your team to help out with the survey of Kaleb III."

Percy nodded to the Lieutenant. "Welcome aboard. We're about to get started!"

T'Lyn just listened but didn't have any questions at this time, but she did agree with what Lennox had requested.

Lennox nodded and stepped over to the comm panel and sent a message for Vaal and Schmidt to report aboard.

Olga arrived on scene wearing minimum kit. She stood by patiently waiting.

Morris sat back again and grinned. "Alright, I need someone at helm, operations and tactical, and engineering. With the crewmen on board, we should be able to handle those spots." He paused. "Go," he added in command, albeit very matter-of-factly.

Gaius just stood there, not knowing a thing about running a starship. He did not want to excuse himself from the Bridge though, since the Major called him on this cruise for a reason. He resigned himself to stay out of the way until needed.

Gilmore took a seat at Science One, activating the short and long range sensors. She looked over her systems to make sure that they were ready to go. She also took a look over the engineering systems, to make sure that the ship was at peak performance.

"Engineering and Science are green across the boards, sir. Impulse, warp, and thrusters are at station keeping." Gilmore said to Major Morris.

"Ah thank you, Lieutenant," responded Morris. "Keep us running," he said half-jokingly.

Gaius thought it over, and then walked over to the Tactical Station. He was familiar in concept on how it worked, he was just never close to a live console.

After everyone had taken a station, Percy nodded as if to set everything in stone. "Alright, Ops, let's get a clearing for launch. Helm, once done, detach moorings and take us out at quarter impulse. Let's get this baby out the door!"

Seeing no one has claimed Ops she walked over to the control and tapped a few buttons. "Sir, Starbase 400 has cleared us for launch." T'Lyn stated as she stood there.

Lennox walked over to Tactical. He'd worked the station on the Pegasus before, years ago, and knew he could use a refresher.

"Thank you," replied Morris. "Helm, take us out."

Giaus watched the approaching Captain. He gave Lennox a smile, "Sir, you are more than welcomed to take this station if you want it."

Lennox and Gaius worked out the tactical station, and then the crewman at Helm took the Tirpitz out. She unlatched, turned about, and left the docking area. The all clear came from Starbase 400 operations and the old Excelsior class vessel was gone in minutes.
