Mission: Mission 76 - Home comings
Location: USS Pegasus, Admiral's Ready Room
Timeline: Current

OFF: Moving things forward a little...

ON:

The ships in the Pegasus's Task Group had been at warp for a little more than a day. They were still some ways away, and the crew had settled down for the trip.

Mike was in his Ready Room, reading over the USS Cairo's reports from their rescue and recovery of Janice, as well as Brigadier General Dartt's logs from when they returned her to Starfleet Command for debriefing and medical aid. In those logs and reports, nothing indicated that her stay would be...extended.

Mike also re-read though his notes from sub-space convocations with Admiral Janeway and Admiral Ross, and both of them clearly indicated that they had been kept out of Janice's debriefings because of their own involvement in the Romulan Espionage/Admiral Jellico incident. So they had no information on why Starfleet Command hadn't allowed Janice to return to Starbase 400 yet.

Mike was angry, angry Starfleet Command was holding his wife, angry that after he and his crew had exposed the Romulan plot and Admiral Jellico assisting the Romulans, and Janice was kidnapped, that Starfleet Command hadn't shown any gratitude at all and allow Janice to return home. He wasn't going into Starfleet HQ with `all guns blazing` though, even though Mike was a Klingon Warrior and a combat officer, his years in Command of the Pegasus and now SB400 had taught him that sometimes, diplomacy was the best policy.

Fleet Admiral Nechayev was now Starfleet CnC, and she and Mike had not always seen eye to eye on things, even as far back as the Dominion war when Mike too was Fleet Admiral and CnC of the Fourth Fleet. Vice Admiral Nakamura was now Vice-CnC. Vice Admiral Toddman rounded out the five member Starfleet Command senior core. Toddman, former head of Starfleet Security during the Dominion war had taken over Admiral Paris's position when he was killed in 2381. Mike didn't know Nakamura or Toddman well, so he took some time to look over their Starfleet Records.

Nechayev, Nakamura, Ross, Toddman, and Janeway, the Command Staff of Starfleet Command...the people Mike had many questions for.

Bremer put down the PADD he was holding and turned off the monitor on his desk before leaning back in his chair. He turned and looked out the window at the Yorktown, Avenger, and Venator in formation. It was 2248 hours and within moments of Mike allowing himself time to relax, he was asleep...
