Mission 87 - Disaster
Location: Security SB 400
Timeline: Current, after briefing.
Saith finished compiling her dossier on Graline. She shook her head he was a real treat. She expected him and herself would get along like well, a Rihannsu female and a Krazzle male. In other words, she would need every trick in the book to maintain her patience. She signed off on the report, sealed it with her security code so that only those in the “Secured code necessary” group could access it. Not quite a “need to know” basis, but you had to have rank and a pretty high security code to access the report.
Saith smiled, pleased with the work she had done. It had taken a very long time but she wanted to be as thorough as possible. You never knew when a seemingly insignificant detail would make all the difference. She had done a complete job; scouring everything and every place for information, that she could think of. She had checked all official records, medical records she could gain access to, media records both in and outside of the Federation; she even put in a few discreet calls. She recorded every snippet of news and every piece of gossip. She included all of his family, friends, and even bitterest rivals in her report. She organized and categorized it all. With a slight smile, she considered that it might have been the most complete dossier on Ra’Graline outside of the Federation’s Intelligence Agency. She yawned.
She had started this project right after the meeting, well during it actually, and was cognizant of the fact Ark Royal, Mercy, Venator, and Saratoga would soon be departing. She calculated the number of hours she had spent in her office, too many she decided. Traffic was coming and going on the base as usual, one shuttle headed for Earth and the Academy carrying the children. She wondered what that felt like, parents who cared about their children, children who cared about their parents, it was not something she had ever had. Before she could get too into her thoughts about her past, she went to inspect the brig. It was in great shape since they had to fix it a couple months ago. She smiled at the thought of being able to throw Graline in here. In her head she chastised herself, (you should be hoping there are no problems, not that you get to kick his butt and put him in a cell). With a small laugh she shook her head.” I never did listen to myself,” she said to the puzzled officer at the station outside the brig doors.
To the computer, “Lt. Junior Grade Saith i-Ki Baratan logging out.” The computer acknowledged her sign off and she headed out the door into the corridor yawning again. She needed some rest before their guests showed up.
