Mission:
Mission 86 - Discovery
Location: Lower Decks
Timeline: MD 7 1300 hrs
It was a day since the First Division, along with the First MARSOC Group stood down. It was a relief for all of the Marines, who really did not mind wearing battle dress constantly, except that there was no one to fight.
Despite of the Division's tactical status, there was one Marine on a mission. In a dark corner, a Ferengi stood waiting. Always an opportunity to make a profit, even this far out in the frontier. "Did I keep you waiting long?" Not used to surprises, the Ferengi almost hit the overhead with the sudden interruption of silence. Turning around, he saw the large Magna Roman just casually standing there.
"Never ever sneak up on a Ferengi!..." "Or what?" Giaus interrupted. Garp considered his next words, mainly because he wanted to live intact, with all of his body parts. "It's just not polite, Sir."
"Good answer. So, do you have the items I requested?"
"They will be delivered to your quarters as soon as payment is received. I have to warn you that due to the distant origin of said items, as well as the perishable nature of some of them, there will be an additional expense, plus finders fee."
Giaus saw this coming, and came prepared. "Name your price."
Nothing gave more pleasure to a Ferengi than to pad an expense on an already agreed price for good and services. Looking at this big human, he doubted that he could meet the price, and dreaded a long period of haggling. Regardless, he would not respect himself if he did not try to pressure this human, not knowing that all humans did not descend from Earth. "An entire bar of gold pressed latinum." He said this with a smile, waiting for the begging to start.
"Done." Giaus pulled out a leather pouch from his side, clinging with the sounds of multiple metal objects. Pulling out 1 bar of gold pressed latinum, and handing it to the Ferengi.
Garp just stood there with his mouth opened, and accepted the overpayment. "Um...thank you Sir. If you need anything else, you know where to find me."
"If I ever need to find you, I will always know where to find you. Thank you for doing business with me."
As they parted company, Garp remained in the dark corner, in fear for his life, despite of making a few months worth of profit from this one meeting."

Giaus arrived to his quarters, delighted to find several packages waiting from him. While resisting his promotion to Staff Warrant Officer, he appreciated the quarks of having private quarters. After putting the perishable items on stasis, he pulled out a book from the last bundle. "Cooking Betazoid For The Soul".
