Lt Commander Torilla Yamaguchi looked distracted as she was almost expecting something to happen, had she know what today would bring, she would have left the Starbase rather then wait for what she knew was coming.

She looked at Tressa as the two woman had lunch together, this day as they had many times before. "So... Tressa. you and Fives?"

The doctor raised an eyebrow, "My goodness, I had no idea so many people were interested in my love life!" She softened her words with a grin. "Where was everyone when I couldn't get a second glance from a man?"

Torilla raised an eyebrow as she turned her head. "He's here." as another being came over, this one looked quite tall and was massively built, he also looked downright intimidating. "Commander Yamaguchi?". he knew exactly who she was, it was not a question.

Tressa regarded the large man; she was small but size never intimidated her. "I am Commander Tressa Brislan, who are you and why are you here?"

The average looking humanoid mearly smiled as he raised an eyebrow, before removing his hood to reveal he had many looks in common with the other Halanan at the table. "I am General Jango'tat Nesbis, New Halaa Security.... Torilla here is my cousin, my father is her uncle." he sighed. "Its a delicate matter Commander Brislan, one we do not discuss with outsiders."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Yet... you are discussing it now..."

"Indeed." he responded. "So as not to make a scene, may I join you.?"

Yamaguchi's surprise was so complete, he might as well have proposed to her.

"I do have my orders Doctor, however... I do have a fair amount of leeway in order to accomplish my goals..." Nesbis explained. "I am prepared to deal..."

Yamaguchi couldn't resist the temptation. "Including getting my exile removed?." the larger angry looking woman replied hotly.

"If that's what it takes.... then yes." Nesbis replied evenly, clearly he had been expecting it. "The Government is having troubles back home with keeping the civilians in line, people are getting desperate..."

"Yes.... had you told me twenty years ago... I would have cared..." Yamaguchi replied in a snide tone.

"I see... " he replied, resignation in his voice. "Make no mistake Torilla.... may I call you Torilla.?"

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow in elegant mockery. "Should I be bothered about it... cousin.. you may call me whatever your little heart desires.." there was something in her tone.

"Torilla... our fertility has been declining for centuries now.... within four generations... the last of the light of Halaa will have gone from the known universe."

"Four generations.... are you trying to scare me?" Yamaguchi responded, her tone noticeably becoming more and more frosty.

"No... I'm trying to make our concerns.... into your concerns..." Nesbis explained. "We need to know how you are having so many children, it would help us turn our numbers around..." he looked at Tressa. "Why is this one still here?, this is Halanan business..."

"Tressa is here because, she is kin to me and you're not... I don't trust you and I think you are a threat to this base and everyone on it." Yamaguchi answered bluntly. "Please behave yourself..."

"I'm deeply saddened you think that way about me..." he responded in a cold, mocking tone of voice. "You remember what happened last time you took me on.." he inquired as he peered down at her.

"I recall you gave me nightmares for weeks... and scared the living crap out of my mother..." Yamaguchi replied. "Don't even think of trying to enter my mind unbidden.. I'll make you regret it." Yamaguchi warned him, her eyes burning like molten fire.

"Not likely." Nesbis responded. "I have honed my skills and abilities... I am as far beyond you... as you are beyond her.." he indicated Tressa. "All I want is information... not a song and dance cousin." he used the human reference on her rather then the Halanan one which came as 'Not a crash and thump'.

"If I refuse?" Yamaguchi commented, a smile appeared on her face.

"Then the Halanan government will have to consider other options." he then slowly rose to his feet as he looked down at her. "I can make your exile go away forever.. All I want is the cure for our species medical issues.."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow.

"I see..." Nesbis regarded the older woman, wondering why she was being so obstinate.

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Do you know how this game is played.. and be reasonable." she growled softly. "You want something from me.... so... lets trade" she was clearly trying to be reasonable.

"Your medical files for your exile being removed.." Nesbis commented evenly as he sat down at the table again."

"I will have to consider it." Yamaguchi commented. "In the meantime... what do I have that you will keep you're word?"

"I have given you nothing to keep cousin, since you have made no commitment either way." he replied bluntly.

Yamaguchi sighed softly. "You are pathetic as a diplomat, you know this right?" she inquired.

"I do not have the patience of a diplomat, they sent me in the hopes that we could speak bluntly"

Yamaguchi shook her head in the middle of his sentence. "No... they sent you here, because they knew you would cause a diplomatic indecent and cause me more problems... cousin.."

Nesbis raised an eyebrow. "Oh really?"

"Yes.. consider it... they sent you as their stalking horse... to bait me... and distract me while they did something else..." and with that Yamaguchi rose smoothly to her feet. "Now cousin, if you'll excuse me..... I have duty and I want you to think about it." as she smiled. "I recommend you avoid my husband.. otherwise our people and my husbands people might end up at war twenty four hours later." and with that said, Yamaguchi walked away.
