Mission: Mission 86 - Discovery
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD3-1200h-After arrival back to Starbase 400

Jewel had gotten settled and after David was resting under the watch of the doctor/physical therapist she decided she would go down to the Promenade to relax a bit. It was good to be home again, she sighed as she walked. When she finally reached the Promenade she found her favorite spot in the Skyline Lounge and sat down. She ordered herself a drink and her food and waited. Looking out the window she began to think of everything that has happened.

"Good afternoon General" Jax said as he approached her. He just happened to be on his midday break.

She looked over at the man who spoke to her. "Colonel," Jewel stated as she looked at him. "Care to join?" she asked looking at him. She decided maybe company would get her mind occupied for the time being.

"Of course. " Jackson took a seat. He already knew David's status, so he mercifully avoided the subject until Jewel brought it up herself. "Forgive my rudeness. Since we haven't met yet, I am Thomas Jackson."

"Jewel Hurd, Chief Diplomatic Officer." She stated as she looked at him, "Congrats on your promotion." She added as the waitress came over and sat her food on the table.

Jax paused the conversation long enough to order ghost chilli poppers for his lunch. Then he turned his attention back to Jewel. "Thank you. To be honest, I would have preferred acquiring a division command in another way."

"Things happen that are out of our control sometimes," Jewel stated as she nor David was upset about it. "David is glad that you have taken over his spot, he said to me that you are a good marine and the best." Jewel added with a smile to hopefully make him feel better.

Jax did feel a little better. "I thank both of your for your confidence in my abilities. By the way, when will David be clear for visitors?"

"Probably later on today, right now he is resting then has physical therapy." Jewel stated looking at him.

"Excellent. I plan on it then." Jackson was happy that he had a chance to see his old CO then. "Is there anything you need?"

Jewel looked at him, "No not at this time." She stated looking at him as she finished her lunch. "So what's been going on here at the Station since I been gone?" She asked looking at the Colonel, she was eager to get back to work soon and she wanted to know what was up.

"Wow, where to start. Well, the station is on security alert because we have 5 members from the Federation Security Council visiting. They are quartered in the VIP section of the station, and I am not sure if Commander Roebuck included you on the access list yet. Second, we have had a star ship come in pretty beat up. Both the Medical and Engineering Departments are working overtime for her. Other than that, business as usual." Jax said his last sentence with a slight chuckle.

"I am not sure, I will have to talk to Roebuck about that." Jewel stated looking at him. I am still technically still on 'Vacation' but I plan on talking to Roebuck to see if I can come back early." Jewel stated looking at him.

"Well, try not to give the man a stroke. He has a banquet on his plate right now. I am sure he can add you with no problem."

"Oh I am sure, maybe I can take some stress off his plate." Jewel stated with a grin. "So how are things going for you?" She asked.

"Well, getting a feel of First Division. So far the feeling is good. I tortured a good Gunnery Sergeant by making him a Staff Warrant Officer." Jax definitely got pleasure from that. "Eventually, I might even get to know my way around this station. The sooner the VIPs are gone, the better."

"They can be a handful at times," Jewel stated from experience both in the Marine and Diplomatic field. "Everything will work out fine Colonel." Jewel stated with a smile.

"Kind of like being in a room full of toddlers, but yes, things will work out."

She nodded, "Well it was good talking to you I better go talk to Roebuck." Jewel stated. "I'll let you know when it's clear for visitors." Jewel added with a smile.

Jackson stood up as she unseated herself to leave. "Likewise Ma'am."
