The Tacoma docked at Starbase 400 at 0230 this morning. My transfer was rather unceremonious. I had formed few relationships (mostly via Ten Forward), so it wasn't much of a surprise that my transfer request was so quickly granted. My larger items were transported directly to my quarters, which was rather convenient. I must say, for an Ensign, my quarters are very posh. I am, of course, comparing these quarters to those of a Miranda-class refit. The halls were strangely empty following my leaving the Tacoma. My arrival aboard SB400 was as uneventful as my departure from the Tacoma. A nameless, faceless Quartermaster punched me up on his PADD and offered an obligatory "Welcome". The base computer guided me to my quarters.
I've had no time to settle in aboard SB400. I received my initial orders to report to the Durga at 0800 for a testing and training mission to Earth. I've never been aboard a Ronin-class starship before. I can't sleep as it is, so I'll definitely be brushing up on the ships tactical systems. So far they seem similar to what had been installed during the Tacoma's refit, but if I configure the layout to my specifications, I'll be able get the bead on an enemy much faster. I'm very excited to hone my skills aboard a ship as advanced as the Durga; even if it's calibrating the targeting scanners and destroying meteors as practice.
I've been catching up on the events surrounding SB400 lately and it seems I'm joining the crew at a rather tumultuous time. I will no doubt be put to the test here, but I await the challenges to prove myself worthy of this posting. Following our trip to Earth, I look forward to all of unique and interesting experiences SB400 will likely have to offer.
