PERSONAL LOG ENTRY
“Science Officer’s log, stardate 73863.0. LTJG. Matthew Plumeri recording:
Today, was a kick ass day. Got back a little while ago from going skydiving. That was fun! Met some more of my crewmates from Starbase 400. Slowly getting to put names and faces together. Had a few frosty cold ones at the ‘Drop Zone’ and here I am, fresh from the sonic shower and going to work in an hour.
I’ve got some data to review from SB23’s long range Astrometrics array. I’ve been taking on more duties regarding my Starbase 400 regular workflow. I am reviewing saved data from Starbase 400’s long range sensor sweeps and building a matrix between those data sets and what we can observe here at Starbase 23.
There is an unusual red shift in the Ebo sector where, so I am told, a skirmish happened some weeks before Starbase 400 had to be surrendered. So, it could just be some dark matter in a state of gravimetric flux, or it could be a pocket of gas ignited by all of the weapons fire. Or maybe it’s a debris field. Whatever it is, I will find out.
After my shift today, I have a date with Ensign Maryknell from Security. No biggie, just meeting for some dinner and maybe a walk in the Arboretum. I like her. She makes me smile. I’ll let you know how it goes.”
“Computer? End log and save it.”
