Personal Log: Fresh Start

I'm not sure why recording these feels like confession but they do. And it has definitely been a while since I recorded one of these. So ...

Starbase 400!

It has been everything I had hoped for. New people, new place and more than enough to keep me on my toes. Medical is understaffed but everyone is so focused and brilliant at what they do. Dr Hades has done himself proud here although I suspect he doesn't maybe tell himself that. Or at least not often enough.

And I'm loving it here! No two days have been the same. From broken bones to neurosurgery - this station can throw anything and everything at you. And today was no exception! It was terrifying, exhilarating and exhausting all in one.

I'm not gonna lie, it has been tough. Sometimes every part of me hurts so much. Some of that is thanks to Ivan.

He is perhaps the most sadistic person I have ever met but that is a good thing in a physio therapist. But he's great at what he does and he isn't much for talking which suits me perfectly. And since physio is going to have to be a part of my routine for a while yet, I may as well make the best of it. And I'll admit it, he's kind of cute.

But I miss home sometimes too. Coming here, it was all to make a fresh start. But I miss the craziness of being home, all the talk and the laughter. The fights!

When I come home there is just silence...

Although I'm pleased to say I've unpacked now and the boxes are no more. So no going back now!

There is way too much space for one person so I'm going to have to do some serious shopping, thankfully the station has plenty to offer on that front too. A girl could definitely get used to having all of this choice at her fingertips. And I've heard rumours of an Irish bar so I have to go check that out soon.

But in the meantime I should go to bed. Another busy day tomorrow and who knows what will have in store?
