Meeting with Admiralty

Location: Earth
Timeline: MD1-1100h-Arrival at Earth

USS Sutherland

Jewel was sitting in her quarters reading over somethings to pass the time. "Bridge to General Hurd," came the voice over her combadge. "Hurd here," Jewel replied as she placed what she was reading down on the table next to her. "Sir we have arrived at Earth and are in standard orbit." Came the reply. "Understood, I will head down to the transporter room Hurd out." Jewel replied as she ended the comm.

She took a deep breathe, stood up and straightened out her uniform. Walking out of her quarters she made her way to the transporter room. She took her time as she took the time to clear her thoughts. A few moments went by and she finally made it to the transporter room, taking a deep breathe she then entered. "Starfleet Command is awaiting your arrival sir," came the transporter chief. "Understood," Jewel replied as she walked up on the padd.

"Engage," Jewel then replied as she then disappeared from the USS Sutherland.

Starfleet Command, San Fransisco, Earth

A few moments later she rematerialized on the transporter padd of Starfleet Command. "Welcome to Starfleet Command General," the transporter chief stated as he saluted. "Thank you at ease," Jewel said as she saluted the officer back.

She walked out of the transporter room and headed down the hallway towards where Admiral Janeway's office was located. After a few moments she arrived, "Can I help you General?" asked the aide.

She looked at the officer sitting at the desk, "I am here to see Admiral Janeway, she is expecting me." Jewel replied.

The assistant tapped a few controls, "Admiral Janeway there is a General Hurd here to see you." the aide stated. "I'll be right out," Janeway replied back. The aide then looked back at the General, "Please have a seat the Admiral will be out in a few." The aide stated, Jewel just nodded and took a seat and waited.

After a few moments Janeway walked out of her office and walked up to her. "Ah, General it's good to see you. Congratulations on your marriage," Janeway said with a smile as she extended her hand towards Jewel. Jewel stood up and shook the Admirals hand. "Thank you sir," came the reply.

"If you will come to my office we can get this meeting underway," Janeway replied as she lead the General down the short hallway to her office. Once they entered Janeway walked around her desk and took a seat as well as Jewel also sat down.

"Would you care for a drink?" Kathryn asked as she looked at Jewel. "Not at the moment Admiral but thank you." Jewel said as she looked at her. Janeway nodded and pulled up the report.

"First off I want to extend my condolences on your loss, we have looked into the accident and did a full investigation on what had happened." Janeway stated as she handed Jewel a copy of the final report. "It was truly an tragic accident, the engine malfunctioned and caused a meltdown and tragically exploded as the escape pods where launched. Unfortunately there were no survivors." Janeway stated looking at Jewel.

Jewel read over the report as the Admiral was talking, once she was done she set the padd on the desk and looked at her. "Thank you, now I am at peace knowing what had happened wasn't fowl play." Jewel stated looking at her. "The funeral is set for tomorrow at the House of Pir'Up Pa Villa estate you as well as anyone who would like to attend are welcome." Jewel stated.

"I'll be there Jewel," Janeway stated as she stood up and shook her hand. "As Tuvok would say, Live Long and Prosper." Janeway stated, "Live Long and Prosper Admiral." Jewel replied back as she then walked out of the office and headed out of Starfleet Command.

There was a transport waiting for her to take her to the Villa where she would await the arrival of the bodies for burial.
