Mission:
Mission 85 - Q-uality Time Aboard Starbase 400
Location: Starbase 400/IKS Sar'Cho
Timeline: Day after 'Making Plans'
ON:
Mike stepped aboard the IKS Sar'Cho and headed for Deck Eleven where one of the ship's Ceremonial Rooms had been set up for Pike's and Hurd's Path to Kal'hyah.
As Mike looked over the room, he smiled, 'These Humans have no idea what's in store for them'.
A few minutes later, K'Temoc and K'Wor arrive and looked over the room.
"Are you sure it's okay for us to be here?" K'Wor asked.
"In this case, I think it'll be all right. I think Hurd and Pike will be happy to have you both." Mike replied.
"Besides, you're old man here never had to chance to journey the Path to Kal'hyah before he and Janice were married, so we're here for him as much as we are for Pike and Hurd." K'Temoc added.
Bording the Sar'Cho with Lennox and Duval in tow, Col. Hurd said as they walked, ''Boys, I hope you are up for this.'' He heard two grunts of agreement behind him, and that caused him to crack a short smile as they rounded a turn in a corridor, and Col. Hurd asked a passing Klingon crewman, ''Where is Admiral Bremer?'' The Klingon replied, curtly, '' Deck Eleven Ceremonial Rooms.'' The Col. Nodded as he, Lennox, and Duval boarded the nearest Turbolift and made their way to deck 11.
As they reached the Ceremonial room, Col. Hurd tapped the door chime and waited for permission to enter.
Bremer nodded to the Marines as they entered. "We should wait for our host, Pir'Up Pa Sa' and the others to arrive before we change and begin."
Nodding back at the Admiral, Col. Hurd said, ''I agree with you, sir''.
Lee had arrived on board the Sar'Cho along with Sgt. Maal and his cousins. The oldest son of Torg, Morath was also with to witness. They finally made there way to the Ceremonial room. All of them followed Lee as they entered the room.
Duval said nothing as he watched the Klingons enter the room, led by Pike.
Lee nodded to everyone:"Gentlemen"
Nodding back to Pike, Col. Hurd said, simply, ''Captain''.
Duval knew this was going to get crowded but he could handle extreme environments including ones that were unusually hot or unusually dry, or
a mix of the two. Also he had done his research on exactly what this journey required and as usual, he thought the Klingon's overdid things.
Lee nodded to Hurd: "Colonel"
To many, the heat on a Klingon ship was hot and stuffy where as to Duval, it wasn't bad but the smell did bother him at times as he greeted Pike with a simple nod but he ignored the Klingons who were with him completely.
While everyone was waiting for SgtMaj Pepper and Vorak Sa' to arrive, there was a flash and the new Q, known as Q3 appeared. "I thought this was going to be a Klingon bachelor party? Where's the women?"
"Get out of here Q." K'Wor boldly said.
"Mind your manner young pup." Q3 replied, then he looked back to the group. "Come on, let's get the party started!" And with a quick fist pump, then flash, the room filled with half nude women of various species, dancing.
A moment later, Q2 flashed in. "So this is what a party should be like!"
"Hey, where's that Human female...the fighter pilot?" Q3 asked as he looked around, "You know, the one that gets around...the one you call Phoenix. Wonder if she's like to go 'round the universe with a Q!" Q3 said with a smile.
"Q!!!" Bremer Said aloud. A moment later, Humanity's former tormentor appeared.
"Q, you promised..." Bremer said to Q.
"I did?" Q asked in reply with a smirk, but seeing Bremer's serious expression he didn't push the issue. "You're right I did, I promised if you get out of hand Q," he said to Q3, "That I would strip you of your powers...with the blessing of Q Continuum."
Q snapped his fingers and in a flash all of the dancers were gone and the room returned to normal. Q2 and Q3 stood in the middle of everyone looking around. Q2 snapped his fingers, but nothing happened. Q3 tried several fist pumps, but again...nothing. They powers had been stripped away. Q stood over to the side and laughed aloud for a moment.
K'Temoc looked over at Mike, "You're not about to let those two stay here are you? You know they wouldn't survive."
Q2's eyes grew big, the looked around the room, then asked K'Wor, "What's he talking about?"
K'Wor looked back Q2, and while they both appeared to be of similar age, K'Wor didn't trust the 'young' Q. "I guess you'll find out soon enough."
Bremer smirked, "Let 'em stay...they like making us sweat, let's see how they handle a little heat."
Q laughed again, "Have fun." And in a flash, he was gone again. Q2 and Q3 looked at each other for a moment.
"We're going to die." Q2 said with a sigh.
Duval smiled. "I'm going to spit you and turn you into a roast.... you little punk" he said to Q3. "Oh yes... I'm going to spend the next two days making you're life into a living hell.. you waste of skin."
Q3 rolled his eyes
Duval slowly smiled. "Gentlemen, make sure you have breakfast and eat hearty.... for tonight, we dine in hell..."
Lee looked over at both Q's:"You know we have a couple Klingon pain sticks with your names on them."
Duval looked at Q3. "I'm not going to make you sweat.... I'm going to make you fry.." as he snarled something in German which the universal translator commented "I expect to see only ashes remaining."
Q2 looked at K'Wor, "Is he really thinking about killing us?"
"It's a threat to make you life miserable." K'Wor replied.
Duval nodded. "He's right Q." he commented. "Because it is a threat... should I skin you first... or no?"
"All right, that's enough with the threats. I suggest you all get one last sip of water and hit the head before our host arrives." Bremer said to everyone.
Q2 looked puzzled, "There's a whole table full of what Klingons call food, right there, as well as a barrel of bloodwine."
Q3 just smirked, "Whatever you weak, small minded, bipeds can handle, we can handle."
Bremer just smirked and shook his head as he walked away. 'They'll never learn'.
Duval smiled darkly. "Keep insulting me Q.... please, give me the excuse I want..." he lifted a flagon of water as he downed the entire contents of the
container. "Q3, you have so much to learn... fortunately, we are going to educate you."
Bremer looked back at Duval, "Sergeant, that's enough. The Qs will learn soon enough. Your words fall on deaf ears, let the journey teach them."
Duval's answer was simple. "Yessir." he replied simply.
Col. Hurd had stood in the corner, quietly observing the exchange in the room. As Duval finished speaking, Col. Hurd walked over to him and said, ''Duval, you know, i respected you before, but now'' he said, looking at the Q's, '' Now, though i have an even deeper respect for you, and i say that we teach these idiots the true meaning of pain, and see if they can take the journey.'' He finished, a wicked, even smile spread across his face as he looked at Q2 and Q3.
Duval smiled gently as he nodded. "Yessir. I thought this event would be boring and dull... I was so wrong... I'm really going to enjoy this.." he commented with his unusual accent coming out, it sounded like a cross between New Zealand, the cockney accent from London's east end and Vulcan.
"Colonel. Captain. Its a privilege for me to be here." he addressed Hurd then Pike in order.
