The Klingons are Coming

Posted on Thu Jan 30th, 2014 @ 9:47pm by Fleet Admiral Mike K`Wor Bremer

741 words; about a 4 minute read

Mission: Mission 84 - Blockade
Location: Admiral Bremer's Officer, Starbase 400
Timeline: Following '

It had been an hour since his last meeting. Three already for the day, but now, it was time for a different type of meeting...

Vorak walked in, leaving his personal escort outside the door. He stood before the admiral and snarled whilst looking him up and down.

"Your older, and fatter than you was in my fathers pictures"

Mike slowly stood from his desk, straightening his uniform. “I was about to say the same thing to you, but hearing is always the first thing to go for the weak.”

Vorak growled, the growl turned into a laugh.

"My father sends his respect"

Mike smirked, “I trust he’s well?” He picked up a PADD from his desk.

"He's back in Starfleet, a Colonel in the marines" Vorak waited a moment "Lost his star but he gets to keep fighting"

Vorak looked around the room then back at Mike.

"So tell me IoD qan, why was a favour called in to get you so much Klingon power at your disposal" Vorak said whilst motioning out of the window at the assembled battlefleet.

Mike handed the PADD to Vorak. “This. I’m sure you are aware of the peace deal reached between the Krazzle and the C’Hakilians. We still have a partial blockade around C’Hakilian territory while their ships take positions along the line and Starfleet helps them construct a sensor and tachyon detection net. We’ve also pulled other ships off the line to escort civilian transports bringing people out of occupied space. The problem is, gaps have opened in the network. Nothing large enough for Krazzle or other Typhon Pact vessels to explode, but it appears Pirates have. We’re not sure if they are remints of Clark’s former band from the Triangle or just rogue ships looking to make some quick latinum…but they need to be stopped. I want you to take your Fleet in and put a stop to the raids. They’ve hit Federation relief convoys, C’Hakilian civilian transports, and a handful of planets and outposts still recovering from the war. Rear Admiral Cole is Senior Allied Commander in the area, keep him apprised of what’s happening but you’ll report directly to me.”

Vorak listened carefully and looked at the data on the PADD. He could see where the gaps had formed and where the federation seemed to be wearing thin. He tapped a few icons on the PADD and handed it back to Mike

"We'll deploy roaming patrols to these areas using the birds of prey, The K't'ingas can provide a buffer zone or corridor if you like, so the relieve convoys can get through without too much trouble. The Sar'Cho will head deeper in to find the forward operating base and shut it down."

Mike nodded, "Very good. Until they are ready to depart, Starbase 400 is open to your crews. There's a good Klingon restaurant, but you might like the Vulcan restaurant...it's bland and boring like your personality." Mike smirked.

"mehh" he made the noise as he slapped Mike on the shoulder

"I'll let you smooth heads eat the petaQ whilst you hide like a bunch of Qa'hom's... me and my warriors will go fight your wars for you" Vorak added with a smirk

Mike smirked, "You know I can best any warrior in your fleet, smooth head or not." Mike looked at this 'Champion Standing' award from the Bat'Leth Tournament on Forcas III several years ago. "You're not forgetting my Klingon half and upbringing are you?"

"It's a trinket, besides the house of Pir'up Pa's champion serves on your station too. He's getting old and slow just like you eh" he let out a hearty laugh

"Then, perhaps we need to have a Tournament, here." Mike replied.

Vorak took a ceremonial dagger from his belt and placed it on Mikes desk, it was a standard klingon dagger with a dark bone carved handle that had the klingon symbol on one side and the house symbol on the other.

"My father said if you ever need us... just call" Vorak added.

Mike nodded and extended his hand.

Vorak stepped forward and grabbed Mikes wrist, a true warrior handshake. None of this touching hands that woman do.

"Die well and with honour" Vorak said in Klingon

"After you." Mike replied with a smile.

Vorak then turned and headed out. He had a lot of work to do.
