Mission: Mission 84 - Blockade
Location: Starbase 400

Jewel made the hard decision but she could do this anymore, she was notified that they had reached Starbase 400 and where given permission to dock. She got up and headed down to the transporter room. Once she arrived she stepped on the padd and gave the order to transport to the starbase.

Once she arrived she headed straight towards Admirals Bremer's office. Once she arrived she saw everyone go to salute and call out "General on deck." She nodded and headed towards the Admirals office and rang the chime and waited for a response.

Mike had just returned from his inspection of the Pegasus. He hadn't planned to stay long, but when the door chime sounded, he knew he'd be here longer than he planned.

"Enter." Mike replied to the chime.

As the door opened, he was surprised to see Brigadier General Dartt walking through the door. He didn't know the USS Cairo had docked, and figured the ship arrived while he'd been away.

Mike stood with a smile on his face, "Jewel, it's good to see you. The Cairo is a little off course isn't she?

"It's good to see you to Mike," she stated with a slight smile. She handed him a padd with her resignation and retirement request on it. "You could say that," she added as she took a deep breathe before continuing. "I have vome here to officially resign my commission with Starfleet and request to reside on Starbase 400." Jewel said as she looked at him.

Mike looked at the PADD, somewhat surprised at the request. The PADD also mentioned that the USS Cairo would be docked Starbase 400 for a routine overhaul. Her Executive Officer and crew would be disembarked from the ship to the station for reassignment.

Mike sat the PADD down and looked back at Jewel. "We'll get civilian quarters assigned to you today. Janice would be happy to see you."

"Thanks Mike, it was something I had to make." Jewel stated with a small smile. "Where is Janice now?" Jewel asked Mike.

“In our quarters, waiting on me.” Mike smiled. “Let her know I’ll be there shortly.

Mike watched as Jewel left his Office. He wondered what had driven her to give up her command and career, but he didn’t want to push. He figured she’d talk about it when she was ready…
