Meeting the New Crewmember

Mission: Mission 83 - Recovery
Location: Starbase 400, Admiral's Office
Timeline: A few hours after 'Getting Away Safely'

ON:

It had been a few hours after the Lexington returned to Starbase 400. Mike had gone to his Office to pick up a PADD when he was handed one by Captain Dow as he passed through Ops.

"Welcome home Mike, I've got a gift for you." Pat said with a smile.

Mike looked at the PADD, "A new Officer." He smirked back at Dow, "You shouldn't have."

Mike took a step toward his Office, then turned back. Have Captain Pike...and..." He looked back at the PADD for a moment, "Lieutenant Gardner report to my Office."

Dow nodded as Mike stepped inside. He looked over the PADD while ordering a raktijno from the food slot, then took a seat to wait on the others.

Lee had just made it back to his office when he got the call. He sent a message that he was on his way there. After a couple minutes he arrived at the ready room and pressed the door chime and waited.

Daniel opted to get up to date before throwing himself into his work. But he had been hungry, so had decided to eat and work at the same time. He had just finished when word reached him that he was wanted in the Admiral's office. He finished his meal and found the nearest turbolift.

The lift took only several moments, which gave Daniel the chance to have several thoughts. He wasn't like normal Lieutenants. He wasn't nervous about presenting himself to the Admiral. He had seen and done many things that very few Starfleet Officers would know about, including most members of the Admiralty, but he doubted that included Admiral Bremer.

The doors parted and he stepped out onto Ops, moving across the room to the Admiral's Ready Room.

With everyone arriving, Mike stood from his desk. "Thank you for coming."

He walked around to the front of his desk, "Captain Pike, let me introduce you to new member of the crew. Lieutenant Gardner is our new Assistant Chief of Intel. Lee, if you can bring him up to speed on Station policy and procedures, as well as our recent trip."

Lee looked over at Lieutenant Gardner:"Nice to meet you Lieutenant welcome aboard Star Base 400."

Daniel nodded his head. "Good to meet you two Captain. Thank you." He replied. There were some high ranking individuals on this station, which put Daniel in the minority.

Lee then turned back to Admiral Bremer:"I can take care of that sir."

"Very good." Mike replied. "And welcome aboard Mister Gardner."

Pike and Gardner turned to leave and Mike went back to looking for the PADD he'd come to his Office to find...
