Break time

Captain K`Temoc had been in Ops for a while, helping to monitor the progress of the Saratoga and Endeavor. He was a little disappointed that Mike hadn't sent him and the Yorktown to assist the Saratoga, but understood why the Sovereign class USS Vanguard was going.

However he did get word that the Admiral wanted him to meet with the new Chief Operations Officer, Lieutenant Gillo, around and help get her settled in. K`Temoc had checked for Ms. Gillo's location and the computer replied that she was in her quarters, so K`Temoc figured she was settling in, so he sent her a textual message to come to Ops when she was settled in so he could show her around.

K`Temoc pulled up Lieutenant Gillo's file and looked over her picture. As he smiled, thinking, `beautiful woman`, Captain Mark looked back at him.

"Not a word." K`Temoc said with a smile to the Betazoid Intel Officer.

"I'm taking a break, going to get something to eat." K`Temoc said as he stood.

"See you back in an hour." Mark replied.

K`Temoc left Ops and headed to the Promenade. Putting in twelve to sixteen hour days wasn't easy, and replicated food just wasn't enough. He wanted a real meal, real food. Problem was, he didn't know what he wanted.

Once he arrived on the Promenade, he walked though the restaurant area. He passed the `Zu Tisch` the German restaurant, `El Chico` the Mexican restaurant, `Inakaya` the Japanese and Sushi restaurant, `The Skyline Lounge`, `Good Fellas` Italian Bar and Grille, the Romulan Restaurant, and even the Klingon Restaurant, and several others. Nothing appealed to him.

As he passed from the restaurant area and into the shop area he paused and slowly turned back around. Being hungry and not knowing what he wanted to eat caused him to just shake his head. Annoyed, he started back down restaurant row, finally stopping at `Country Lane`, a new restaurant that specialized in southern United States cooking. Fried chicken, collard greens, squash casserole, and other foods from the region on Earth K`Temoc was born and raised...when he wasn't on Q'onoS. Being half Klingon, both he and Mike had grown up with a variety of food types. Southern, German, Italian, Japanese, Mexican just to name a few from Earth, and of course Klingon dishes. Maybe that's why today it was hard to make up his mind...

After his meal, K`Temoc headed back to Ops...
