Flag Meeting

Posted on Fri May 10th, 2013 @ 3:09pm by Fleet Admiral Mike K`Wor Bremer & Lieutenant K`Wor & Admiral Deela T'Lar

897 words; about a 4 minute read

Mission: Mission 82 - The Aggressor
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: Following 'Business Competition'

ON:

After his power lunch, Mike returned to Ops. He wanted to tell T’Lar about everything he learned from Sevlek, but he also knew he was duty bound not to. He knew he could completely trust his Executive Officer, and he was conflicted inside…

As he walked into Ops from the Turbolift, K’Wor walked over to him. “The USS Lexington as docked, they have orders putting the vessel back under Starbase 400’s command.”

K’Wor handed his father a PADD with the orders that the Lexington transmitted as they docked. Mike looked it over, and while he was happy to have the Lexington back was another Sovereign class vessel really needed? He thought about the possible upcoming blockade and figured that was the main reason for the Lexington’s return.

“Thank you.” Mike replied to K’Wor and the Ensign returned to his Security/Tactical position.

Mike walked over to T’Lar’s Office and rang the bell.

After the past few days events, Deela was doing some much needed meditating, trying to calm her spirit. When she heard the bell, she took a breath and called out, "Enter."

Mike walked in and saw T'Lar had been meditation, "If this is a bad time I can come back later."

"Actually, this is a very good time. I would like to talk to you about Sevlek. I have reservations about the man. He has been busy on Deck four, making it impossible for anyone with even my security level. " Deela looked up at him, observing him, "But you know that already." She was annoyed once again,"Typical."

Mike bit his lip for a moment as he walked in and the door shut behind him. He knew Deela was angry, and he was too still to an extent, but after his meeting with Sevlek, he knew a little bit more about the ‘why’.

“Computer, disable all recording and scanning of this room, Authorization Bremer-Seven-Four-Bravo-Tango.” The computer beeped in compliance. “Actually, I just came from a meeting with him and I have full access to his little fortress now. I’m going to work on getting you access now, but I can’t promise anything. All I can tell you is, he is operating on orders from higher up…much…higher…up.” Mike couldn't tell her details, but he hoped she’d read between the lines.

“Part of the reason he’s been here has been me, he’s been observing me, making sure I was still mentally fit for command…after what happened.” He paused a moment before continuing, “I think he’s still testing and observing, so at this time I can’t reveal anything he’s said. Just keep your eyes and ears open, just in case.” Mike glanced out the window behind T’Lar, then looked back at her.

"I am. It is no secret that I do not like the man. When I was on deck 4, I was curious to see if I could gain access to Sevlek's office with my security level, I failed to do so. About an hour later, I had a strange visit from a Lieutenant Commander Matthews. He said that Colonel Andrenicus sent him to see what I needed. I told him that I was curious and he proceeded to feed me just enough information to appease me. He explained to me that they are investigating the Krazzle military engine's speed and efficiency in their conflict with the C'hakilian Empire. That is ALL he would tell me."

Deela leaned froward in her seat, her hands resting on her desk, "Something is nagging at me but I can't figure out what it is. Why that particular piece of information? Why not say that he is working on the C'hakilian and Krazzle conflict and leave it at that?" She wasn't quite sure what it was that she was sensing from Matthews.

Mike wanted to fill in some of the blanks for her, but he was duty bound not to. He only hoped that when the information he knew was disseminated out, that it wouldn't cause a rift between him and T'Lar. Mike trusted her completely, but he'd also given his word. It put him in a rough spot for sure...

"I'm sure we'll find out soon enough." Mike replied. He then glanced out the window again before changing the subject.

"The USS Lexington is docking now, she's being reassigned back to Starbase 400...I'm sure Sevlek made the request. I'm not sure we need another Sovereign class vessel right now, but with the Pegasus, Essex, Avenger, Kearsarge Venator, and Durga all in drydock for repairs, upgrades and/or overhaul, having another vessel here isn't a bad thing."

Mike handed T'Lar a PADD that outlined the new Type-XIII phasers, Positronic Core, LCARS 7, and Quantum Slipstream Drive. It also showed why ships like the Intrepid, Akira, Nebula, Steamrunner, and older classes simply couldn't support the systems for the Type-XIII systems, but they were able to upgrade the Essex, Avenger, and Kearsarge with Type-XII arrays. Later, they could do the same to the Saratoga, Sutherland, Constantinople, and others.

"Read over that when you have time." He looked back at T'Lar's eyes and he knew she needed to rest...something was on her mind.

"I'll let you get back to your meditation. We'll meet again tomorrow." Mike smiled as he left Deela's Office.
