Timeline: Before A New Mission

Alex was so happy to be home. When Lee and Alex walked into their quarters, Paul was standing by the replicator, getting himself a drink and sandwich. He didn't know that they were back. When he saw them, he immediately put his plate and glass on the table. Alex smiled at him, "Missed me?"

Paul walked over and gave her a hug, "Of course. I just didn't know that you were coming home."

"It's okay. Don't worry about it."

Paul looked at Lee, "Hi."

Lee nodded to Paul "Hello Paul. How's your day been?"

"It's been great. Racheal and I have been hanging out while you guys were gone." Alex could see that he really liked this girl.

Lee smiled:"That's good to hear. You must really like her."

"Yeah, I do. She's not like other girls that I've met."

Alex chuckled to herself. It was nice to see that he found someone to hang out with other than Brandon while they were gone on their missions. "She's definitely different."

Brandon agreed. Alex decided to change the subject, "I saw grandma and grandpa. They miss you. They'll be here for the wedding though."

"I miss them too." Paul agreed. He was curious about Lee's parents, "So Lee, how did your parents like my mom? Did they run the other way when they saw her?"

Alex feigned a laugh, "Ha, ha, ha Brandon. Very funny."

"My parents really liked your mom. In fact my mom gave her a hug."

"Really?" He gave his mom a high five, "Way to go mom!"

Lee then pulled out a data padd from his bag:"Here you go Paul, here's some pics that was taken at the engagement party at my parents. Sorry you weren't there."

Paul took it from his hand, "Oh good. Thanks for thinking of me."

He stood there watching Paul:"When and if you are ever ready Paul, I would like to one day adopt you as my son."

Paul wasn't quite sure what to say. He hadn't thought about it but he wasn't against it. He would need time to think about things. "Okay. I'll give it some thought."

Lee nodded:"Take all the time you need with it Paul."

"Thanks."

He then headed for the replicator:"Is anyone hungry?"

Paul spoke up, "I'm gonna have lunch with Racheal, then we are going to study."

Alex smiled at Lee, "Well I'm hungry. I'll have what you are having dear."

Lee smiled at Alex:"So that means if order gagh you will eat it?"

"Ah, no. I like my food dead and not moving."

He laughed:"Well you did say you would have whatever I was having."

"Great, everyone thinks they are a comedian."

Lee then went over and ordered a couple of plates of shrimp and rice gumbo, along with a large pitcher of iced tea with mint, and sugar. He brought the plates to the table then grabbed the pitcher.

Alex joined him, "Paul. why don't you sit with us until you have to go." Paul nodded and sat down. Alex continued, "So how serious are you about Racheal?"

Paul shrugged, "I like her a lot." Paul smiled, "Don't worry mom, I'm not going to marry her any time soon." Paul stood up, "Well, gotta go. I'll see you in a few hours." He kissed his mom on the cheek and bolted for the door. Alex looked at Lee and shook her head but with a smile. "Aw, young love."

Lee smiled then spoke after a bite of food:"It just seems like yesterday you was changing his diapers huh?"

"It does. I feel like I just blinked my eyes and bang, he's a man."

"I did enjoy meeting your parents by the way. It seemed like they had a good time at the party."

"They did. They had always wanted to go to Hawaii but never did so it was a good trip for them. I enjoyed meeting your parents as well. I'm looking forward to getting to know them better."

Lee nodded:"Am glad to hear they had a good time. My parents enjoyed meeting you too."

"Good. I guess I was worried about nothing." She joked.

He sighed:"I still feel bad about what happen with Racheal."

"I wouldn't worry about it. She seems like a tough cookie."

Lee nodded:"Yea she does seem like one tough cookie. Granted her mother wasn't too happy but that's understandable."

"No but she will get over it."

He went back to eating:"This stuff going on with Admiral Selvek has me bothered."

"You're not the only one. It's strange that Deela's security level can't get her in his office."

Lee nodded as they ate."Am sure Admiral Bremer is frustrated by him as well."

"Yeah but what is he going to do? Let''s not talk shop. I want to just enjoy the evening with you, okay?

Lee nodded:"Ok Imzadi, no more shop talk."
