Mission: Mission 81 - Revenge
Location: USS Pegasus, Admiral's Ready Room
Timeline: Following 'Looking for Leads'

ON:

Mike was sitting at his desk in his Ready Room aboard the Pegasus. He looked out the window and watched as a tractor beam pulled the Runabout Cherokee into the ship's Main Shuttlebay.

He took a deep breath, then tapped the comm panel on his desk. He waited for T'Lar to appear...he wanted to update her on what was going on, as well as ask her to do a few things to help from there...

After a moment, the face of his trusted XO appeared on the screen.

Mike tried to force a smile, "Deela" he started, then took a deep breath, "Has DS6 sent you their sensor data yet?"

Deela could tell that he was putting up a front for her just as she was doing with him. But in his case, it was, of course, useless to hide it from her, "Yes, we received it just a few minutes ago. So what is the deal? Why your wife's runabout?"

"I really feel like this is a personal attack, combine that with the recent attacks on friends of mine. K'Temoc and Roebuck are going on the reports on the attacks on Kim and MacLeod, and the recent supposed suicide of Slater, then this. It's too much." Mike said.

"Yes, it is. Do you have any inkling of who might have done this? Like me, I am sure that you have picked up a few enemies along the way."

"I don't know." Mike paused a moment, "I want R'nard and Yamaguchi to look over the data from DS6."

"I will get them on it ASAP." Deela found it hard to look at him without feeling some kind of sadness. She caught herself slip for a moment but recovered quickly. Looking away, she took a breath before continuing, "Anything else I can do here?"

"Keep an eye on the Neutral Zone. Admiral Riggs with Starfleet Command believed the Romulans were massing, said thirty Warbirds had been redeployed there." He paused a moment, then continued, "I sent LaForge and the USS Challenger to the border to verify...but Admiral Tomolak denied Riggs's report." He paused again, the wheels turning in his head...

"Check with Geordi, see if he's found anything. Also check our listening posts and sensor nets along the zone, see if they have detected anything. Riggs seemed sure, almost overly sure, but he didn't explain why other than saying Starfleet Intelligence learned of the redeployment. I want to know what his source of information is."

"Okay, will do." Something bothered her about this whole situation but she couldn't put her finger on it. She hoped that once she talked to LaForge, that he would clear things up. It should be interesting to see what LaForge found out. "Do not worry about a thing. You just concentrate on finding out who did this and get your son back."

Mike nodded, "That's what I'm working. Let me know as soon as you find anything, Bremer out."

He quickly closed the channel and stood up. He had a gut feeling The Challenger wouldn't find anything, no Romulan build up. 'Red Alert' was going off in the back of his mind.

He walked out of his Ready Room, "Coleman you're with me...Ensign Baratan is bringing the Cherokee into the Main Shuttlebay now. I have a feeling we missed something during our initial scans."
