Mission:
Mission 75 - Time of Change
Location: USS Saratoga, Bridge
Timeline: Following Bremer's post
ON:
James had headed for the conference room and had summoned K'Wor, Archer, Lee, Thorin and Ensign Brandy Ragen the helm officer he had grabbed. This was a major operation to be sure one that did have repercussions for the entire sector.
He pulled out his chair and sat down.
K`Wor sat at the conference table. He knew this had to be tactical mission of some kind, why else would Commander Winter be in command? He also reasoned that it wasn't too dangerous of a mission, or Captain Harrison would be the Tactical Officer instead of himself.
He looked toward Commander Winter, waiting for the mission briefing to begin.
"Alright People." Winter began the moment he was seated. "We have a High Priority Tasking, a request from Admiral Rainer passed thru by Admiral Bremer. Bajoran Intelligence received an urgent tip that the Romulan Empire, thru their Typhon Pact have been generous enough to share technology with the Tholian Empire."
Everyone shared glances at that before Winter continued with the brief. "Our job is to develop a tachyon detect grid for our border we share with the Tholians. To that end Mister Archer and Mister K'Wor will develop the grid to ensure it connects with every outpost and facility we have along the Tholian Border. Mister Lee, your orders are to firm up the Bajoran Intelligence, find out exactly what they were given by the Romulans and what the Romulans got in return."
"Yes sir." Said the Asian Intelligence Officer.
Archer nodded, "Tholians are Bad News, how do we defend against the Web Spinners?"
"Good Question sir." Winter's Andorian First officer said.
"If I may," K`Wor spoke up, "our best defense is a good offense. We know the Tholians have to first disable a ship before they can start a web. Their Battleship class can 'project' a web out without actually `spinning it`like their Destroyers do, but again the target vessel needs to be disabled first, and in range. So, we keep our distance and pound them with torpedoes from our fifteen launchers."
Winter smiled. "Valid Points. Ensign, that will be your primary task, however, our orders strictly prohibit us from crossing into the border. To that end once we leave the station we will operate under cloak. Transmissions from this point on will be under security clearance. Also Mister Thorin will schedule combat drills for each shift, concurrently there will be briefing and analysis. We're simply to conduct a look around and come home. Any questions?"
K`Wor smiled to himself, he was glad his pre-Academy test had included a tactical analysis of Tholian combat tactics. He looked out the window of the Briefing room and saw the USS Enterprise-E docked now, then he turned back to the Commander and shook his head `no`.
No one else objected. "Very good, we leave in one hour, Carry on." Winter said. He eyed the admiral's son. The mission may just prove how important the Bremer family was to the Federation and Starfleet overall. Everyone stood and headed out.
Winter would be on the bridge in a while. He turned on his monitor to review the Bajoran Intelligence Report.
