Mission: Mission 79 - Triangle
Location: USS Avenger, Bridge
Timeline: Following 'Operation: Get Clark'

K’Wor’s panel beeped, “Captain…sensors are picking up two Pirate vessels. A Blade class and the Dagger class reported by the Essex. Both ships are at warp three, heading two-four-nine mark six-five, distance two million kilometers.”

"Set a course to intercept. All Hands Red Alert!"

Ryan was hoping to make this a quick rescue.

As the red alert klaxon started to sound and the lights on the bridge dimmed, K’Wor looked over at the Captain, “Sir, we easily out gun the Dagger, I should be able to take out their warp and impulse engines with the first volley, the shield with another shot or two. However that Blade class ship is another story. They match our firepower and their shielding is better than the Dagger’s.

"Understood. I am sure Commander Coleman can handle them while we are away."

Ryan turned toward the Commander and smiled

Coleman smiled back with a sly little grin before saying, "I'll make sure they know who they're messing with, sir."

Ryan then turned to the Ensign.

"Ensign, is the away team ready?"

Even though they were evenly matched all he needed was enough time to get the Major out.

“Yes sir, I have a four man Security Team standing by.” K’Wor quickly replied.

"Good. Time to intercept Ensign?"

“Two minutes, eighteen seconds sir.” K’Wor replied.

Time continued to tick by, but those one hundred and thirty-eight seconds felt like one hundred and thirty-eight years. K’Wor tapped a few commands into the Tactical Console. “Ready to fire on your orders sir.”

Ryan waited a moment as they drew closer.

"Ensign, Fire!"

Phasers and a volley of torpedoes impacted the smaller of the two. That was enough to get their attention. The Avenger shuttered slightly under the impact of the weapons fire.

"Ensign, Status of the Dagger class?"

"Shields down, that last torpedo took out their engines sir." K'Wor replied as he looked over the sensors. He then targeted the Dagger's escorting ship, a larger Blade type raider. He wanted to try and suppress their weapons to give the Avenger time to lower shields, beam the Away Team over to the Dagger, then re-raise it's shields.

"That is our cue. Ensign K'Wor you are with me. Commander Coleman you have the bridge."

Ryan and the Ensign headed toward the transporter room.
