ON:

K’Wor was in his quarters, looking over the general specs of the Pirates’ Dagger class vessel.

‘Crew: forty, two shuttle bays, six Type-XI phaser arrays, three torpedo launchers, shielding equal to Starfleet’s Class 8, height: 39.2 meters, width: 111.6 meters, length: 218.6 meters.’

The Avenger would be more than a match for the small raider, but they weren’t going in to ‘fight’. They needed to quickly knock the ship’s shields and engines out to beam the away team over. That seemed easy enough, ‘on paper’.

The hard part would be for the young Acting-Ensign to complete his job, destroying the ship’s computer systems so any Starfleet data vital to Federation security wouldn’t fall into Pirate hands. The biggest problem K’Wor was having was, locating the Dagger’s computer core itself.

Starfleet had very little data on the internals of these Pirate ships, and many of them were retrofitted by their crews depending on their needs. Scans from the Essex indicated the ship they were after was pretty standard in configuration, where internal systems were was still a mystery.

Of course they knew where major things were located, the Bridge, Engineering, Shuttle and Cargo Bays, so during the assault to knock out the Dagger’s shields and engines, the Avenger would need to get intense scans to not only locate the Major, but to also pinpoint a good beam in site and where the computer core was located.

K’Wor wanted to ask Commander Coleman to perform the scan, but he was under orders not to mention his side-mission to anyone, so he’d have to do it.

He then picked up another PADD, on it he had specs for standard Starfleet iso-mag charges. Two would take out the computer core with no problem. All he needed to do was to set up his tricorder to act as a remote trigger. A little hands-on work would be good, and he picked up his tricorder.

The Avenger was only a few hours away from its target and time was quickly passing. He’d get the charges and tricorder ready, then a quick nap before reporting to the Bridge to get ready for the action.
