Mike had returned to Ops after his little chat with Pavlik. The guy was good, well trained, but had a major weakness. His sense of self-preservation was high, too high. Now, Bremer and Lokran were going to use that against him in the hopes it would draw out whoever else had been planted aboard the station. With a crew of nearly one-hundred thousand officers and crewmembers, it was easy to slip in one or two people, so once all of this was over, security protocols would have to be adjusted.
Mike had the coordinates of Westmoreland’s reply transmission, and he quickly relayed them to the Steadfast using one of Captain Mark’s secure encryption algorithms. With Mark now teaching at Starfleet Academy, only Harrison, Pike, K’Temoc, and Bremer knew the decryption sequence for the code.
With the coordinates of Westmoreland, and possibly Clark too, he knew the Steadfast would be moving in against them soon.
After sending the brief transmission, Mike sent another message to the new Commanding Officer of the 181st Tactical Fighter Wing, Marine Captain Hammond to meet him in his Office. The meeting was long overdue, but with all the activity aboard the Station lately it couldn’t be helped and Mike hoped the Captain understood.
Now, it was time to wait. Wait for Hammond to arrive, wait for word from the Steadfast, and wait for Pavlik’s ‘friend’ to show up. Mike shook his head, he hated waiting. He walked over to the food slot, ordered a raktijno, then headed for his Office.
