Reflections of the Past going Forward

Mission:
Mission 79 - Triangle
Location: Bridge of the USS Princeton
Timeline: After Bremer / Graham JP
ON:
Holly had been under the same panel for a while didn't even notice the Admiral was still there, but then again he didn't make himself known unless there was something to be said. This time there was plenty for when she looked up and saw an officer in engineering colors she smiled at him and spoke right to him,
"Forgive the mess but as you can see damage control teams and a hard head can only do so much. We have equipment requests out for the ship already for the surface issues that have already been identified. We could use the skilled hands and eyes of an engineer of your skill level to round up the rest of the issues this ship has so to repair her back into service."
"Ma'am, if I may... I don't want to be finding problems you already know about, and have the appropriate requisitions in for. It might be best if I got down to the engine room and start working on the ship's power matrix. The sooner we can get main power back online, the sooner we'll be able to get the industrial replicators up and running so we don't have to depend on the starbase for parts." Jackson offered.
Jackson couldn't stand waiting around to finally fit into some starbase's list of priorities if he could avoid it. Sure there were some repairs that just had to be done on a starbase's timetable, but he preferred that list to be as miniscule as possible. The sooner they could make the repair teams here self-reliant, the better in his mind.
She might look human but she could sense people's emotions without even needing to be told. That was why her statements weren't exactly full of emotion but neutral in nature. Her eyes were void of the color that normally would be there as she was operating on her Betazoid side full without hiding it to keep track of the people on the ship. She didn't want anyone burning out on this one including herself.
"I understand completely and you can go down there and see if you can get her light up sooner than the team that is working down there now to do that. If you need anything let me know and I'll let you know of anything going on that we might need to change the ship power for in order to get going, and welcome on board. Seventy years weren't too bad on her external so we got one thing going for us."
Maybe it was the fact that he knew she was a Betazoid, maybe it was just the meeting the new boss jitters, nevertheless, he felt like a first year cadet for the first time in a long time. He was trying too hard to impress right off the bat.
"Ma'am, I'm sure the people you've got working on it are doing a fine job. Hopefully, I can help them speed up the process of breathing some life into this old girl." Jackson said, almost apologetically.
"You'll fit right in as soon as you relax. I am almost sure of it. Just be careful and if you need anything comm. up here or crawl up here whatever way is going to work. I don't want the newest member of the family here getting hurt the first day he's on board." She then smiled, "My name is Holly and that's what you can call me instead of ma'am all the time. I just hope that you can find an easier answer then what we've been finding here so far."
Jackson blushed slightly, "Thanks for the vote of confidence ma'am... uh... I mean Holly. I'll try not to deplete the infirmaries' medical supplies too quickly."
"I can't make that same promise as trouble tends to find me, but thank you for the gesture." Sensing their first meeting drawing to an end she squatted back down near the panel she had been working on to get it back up and running. The station itself would be useful if able to work again as it had the internal schematic of the ship. " Now if this would work we could find out where the dead wires are and replace them. However, it has a mind of its own right now..."
Jackson chuckled softly, "Machines can be more like humans than we care to admit." He picked up his engineering kit off the bridge chair and made his way to the turbolift shaft. All in all, he had a feeling he was going to like it here.
She smiled and muttered, "Yes they can be." Feeling him settle into things made her more at ease and with that bit of relaxation she was able to bring the ship one step closer to coming back on-line.
