Mission: Episode 120 - Guardian at the Gate
Location: USS Essex - Main Bridge / Engineering
Timeline: Current

Dee sat at one of the consoles in main engineering. The Essex couldn't really do much at the present but all of her defense systems were on standby and their adjoining backup's had been checked an obscene amount of times.

=^=Bridge, this is Vox in Engineering. Anything interesting to report on your end? It's quieter than a library after closing down here. =^=

Ariana was getting bored herself, almost wishing something would happen just to liven things up a little. =^= Sorry Dee, about the same here. Not much to report really. =^=

=Okay, at least it's the same in both places and no one is hogging all the action. I've had the time write down some notes for I have that important talk with my parents.=^=

After around 30 minutes of barely much to do in engineering, Dee headed up to the bridge. On arrival she logged into the engineering station on the bridge.

Turning around from her console, she sniffed the air. "Can anyone else smell that? It's like a combination of strawberries and popcorn. What an odd thing to smell on a starship bridge. "

Deela looked at her strangely, "Popcorn and strawberries?" They had moved closer to the conduit opening but that couldn't be it, "I don't smell anything. Then again, I'm not pregnant."

" It's not very strong, somewhat faint, but it's definitely there. Hold on a moment. " She said having a realisation. She took off her tool belt and opened the pockets. She rummaged inside for a few seconds. She pulled out a notebook she used to jot down ideas the old fashioned way, with a pencil. She smelt the yellow cover of the notebook. "Bullseye. How the heck did I suddenly smell this? Hmm. "

Deela couldn't help but laugh, "Well, if we need a bloodhound, now we know where to look." It felt good to laugh. All of this waiting was getting on her nerves, "Any movement from the Borg?" She asked her security officer.

"Nothing yet. I'll keep monitoring them and the entrance."

"My enhanced sense of smell is temporary as in for the length of my pregnancy. So if you need a bloodhound for longer than 9 and a half months you will need to look elsewhere." Dee commented.

"I'll keep that in mind." Deela smiled. She watched as they started to move closer to the entrance to the conduit.
