Edg'rrr awoke with another officer grabbing him pulling him up back onto his feet. He looked around with a headache as the screen showed stars drifting by moving from the top to the bottom. Seeing Osmond slowly stand up made a drop in his stomach yet relief. "Status?"

"Shields offline. Weapons at thirty seven percent. Hull sixty three percent. No casualties but receiving reports from the medical teams of damages." Said the lieutenant as Edg'rrr suddenly had a feeling that all eyes were on him. Osmond took notice waving off another officer as they tried to help.

"Anisu in my ready room please. Lieutenant get this ship in order before they decide to finish us off ". Said Osmond gesturing towards Edg'rrr to follow. It was a short walk but felt like the longest stepping into that room. Edg'rrr knew he stepped out of line. He wondered if resigning now might be worthwhile. Get off back at Deep Space Nine, take a shuttle back to Cait, drop off the radar forever. Osmond sat down behind a desk rubbing his forehead wiping a bit of blood off. He tapped the computer to bring up damage reports that started pouring in. Edg'rrr stood at a relaxed form of attention with his arms folded behind his back and his legs spread apart. It took a few minutes of pure silence. Nothing said. Nothing of note going on. Until the stars outside the window began to slow down eventually returning to a more stationary level.

"Around a thousand or so years ago we had a civilization on Earth called the Roman Empire. They had a philosophy in their army. Your shield must protect those beside you. Jump forward a few hundred years. Many armies adopt the idea of breaking the mental safety of their soldier's minds to forge bonds with their squad mates. For the most part this worked well as teams could rely on each other much like the closest group of friends you could ever have. Today in Starfleet we've learned to retain the mental safety but still have that bond between crew members." Said Osmond as Edg'rrr still didn't feel comfortable in the situation. "I need to know I can rely on my crew. You proved to me today I can't trust you. My crew can't trust you.". Edg'rrr felt his stomach drop farther. "We still have a fight to win but you're to help damage control below deck. Your Admiral will be informed when we arrive at Four Hundred. Obviously their was some wisdom in him keeping you as an ensign." Edg'rrr wasn't sure how else this meeting would go so he was glad in a way that was over. It still hurt however. "Though don't think I plan to let you just leave Starfleet. You have skills Anisu. You just need to know how to use it alongside others. I'll let them know down below for you. Dismissed ". Edg'rrr saluted before walking out.

He made sure not to give direct eye contact to anyone making his way to the turbolift. Inside and on his way he reflected on what happened. He knew from the readings that the torpedoes were using a variable that helped it get past the shields but now he can only hope the crew can pull through. Perhaps if he can find time he'll continue to figure out what exactly happened. As well as why the ship was knocked out from the recent blast.
