Mission: Episode 118 - "It's About Family"

Cameron was reading over the message he had gotten from his uncle Howard only a couple hours ago. This was the third time he had read the text letter and the 5th time he had watched the recording, everything kept coming to the same conclusion. His family both on New Dakota and here on the station were in danger.

Cameron sat there thinking trying to figure out what to do next. The image that been sent to him was disgusting to say the least. His mother and aunt both brutally raped with his mother being killed and his uncle and aunt barely escaping with their lives. He knew the kind of butchers who could do this on New Dakota hell they had tried more then once to recruit him to their ranks when he was a kid.

Yes his family was a mob family and yes he had seen and done more then a few questionable things but the people who did this were the kind of people who got off on causeing others pain and committing murder. Worse yet when they sat there sights on someone they did not just kill that person they wiped out the entire family line.

He knew what he had to do he just did not want to do it as it would mean going back down a hole he had fought for years to get out of. Claiming that which was his by birth and hopefully bringing his family into the light of day where this did not happen again.

his decision made he wrote what would likely be the hardest letter he would ever have to write. He only hoped that she would understand and still be here with their kids when he got back.

TO Lt. Commander Arianna Wayne

My dearest love. This is a letter I had hoped would never have to be written however things have happened that are beyond my control that have forced my hand. I have to go away for a time inorder to try and save what is left of my extended family.

To give you some information to hopefully help you understand why I have no choice I ask that you read this entire letter and not judge me to harshly for my actions both that I have done and that I will do.

To start with I told you my family was in the mob and that I had managed to get out by literally running away from the family business. This is true what I did not tell you is that my family is the head of a mob family, and with the death of my father and older brothers the job of leading the family falls to me. My uncle has been running things in my stead but I have always had the final say on any major operations.

There is a sect in the underworld called for lack of a better title Murder Inc. Their sole purpose is to wipe out targets but not only the target. Rather they exceed their orders every time. They kill the target then they kill the rest of the family as well. Someone set them on my family and they killed my mother. I do not know if they know about you and the kids but I emplore you to talk to the chief of security explain things to him and get a protection detail for yourself and the children if possible. Their method has always been to make it look like an accident but that might have changed.

I fully intend on returning to you as there is not a force in this galaxyy that could ever hope to stop me. But I would also be a fool not to take some precautions. In the closet in our bedroom at the very back of the topmost shelf you will find a box. Inside that box you will find the following items. Serveral files on every known and suspected member of Murder Inc from the leader to the lowliest soldier, There is also a Heirs ring I intend to give it to our son on his 18th birthday it will open doors for him that would otherwise not exist if he chooses to us it. There is also a paper with several numbered accounts that have been setup by myself and a Orion named Gluth. I trust him as much as you can trust any orion but he has been loyal to me for many years and made us a not inconsiderable amount of latnium. The last thing is a sealed case inside that case is a replicator code, the code can be used one time and only one time to replicate a romulan disruptor and a set of klingon battle armour. If you need to use it things must be dire indeed. Just be warned the disruptor has no stun setting only kill.

GIve my wishes to the children and know that you are always in my heart and I am sure you will guide me to the right course of action.

With the letter finished he sat down and encoded it to be delivered in about an hour and a half. That would give him the time he needed to get to his runabout and get underway before she read it. He knew she would likely be ferious with him but he honestly believed this was the only way to keep them safe and that was all that mattered to him.

He headed for the runabout bay after all he had a ship to catch.
