Mission: Episode 118 - "It's About Family"
Location: Starbase 400, Various
Timeline: MD 01 1400 hrs

Jaxon's roundabout was making its final approach towards Starbase 400. He could see the exterior damage, but as soon as it's run about started to travel inside he could see the interior damage which looked almost worse in his personal opinion. "My God...." He simply said as the runabout went on autopilot which allowed him a brief moment to look up and look at some of the damage.

The automated ride took a few minutes, because the closest base were all out of service. Which meant that he had to almost travel to the other side of the bay just to get docked. He can see several ships they were all so damaged and worker bees already in the process of repairing the ships.

He was not alone in the runabout there are other new personnel coming aboard a lot of them were engineers. He could hear them talking their little technobabble, but you made him feel it out of place but he didn't mind too much and then he got to spend more time flying the ship. Pretty soon he'd have to give up the runabout in order to fly a starship. So for the moment he decided he's going to take full advantage of this moment.

The right about started to dock, when the indication sensors advice him that he was coming in too fast. The automated system wasn't correcting for this, so with the scared look on his face he just connected the automated system and took over manual controls advising the doc operator that he was doing so.

After the crisis had been averted and barely thanks to his skillful flying he was able to slow down the runabout to the appropriate speed and land the ship manually. Everyone started to disembark the runabout as he opened the doors, he was one of the last ones to leave when he saw a lady in a gold uniform really cute redhead approaching their direction. "Well that was adventurous." Jaxon said he looked over to the lady who had not identified herself yet, but then again he didn't identify himself either.

"That was quite impressive flying there considering you had go full manual. With the state the Starbase is in that can't have been easy. Sorry where are my manners, I'm Lieutenant JG Deezell Vox, Assistant Chief Engineer. "

"So formal with the JG. If we're being formal I'm Lieutenant Junior grade Jaxon Ruveer. Requesting permission to board, Lieutenant. I am One of the newest and proudest helmsmen, you'll find your engineers are in good health and good spirits." Jaxon said trying to be a little confident and smooth at the same time. He wasn't sure if this approach to work I didn't he would try a new approach. She was cute, and he didn't see a ring on her finger. He was just beating the waters, which is also a very aggressive pass given the fact that he just boarded the station literally a few seconds ago.

"Well then, Lieutenant Junior Grade Jaxon Ruveer, most people tend to call me Dee, so please do. The request is granted of course. Your piloting prowess brings back memories of when I was Jorran Vox. one of Trill's leading experimental engine test pilots. Those were good days. Hmm." she thought about it for a moment. "Welcome aboard Starbase 400, please excuse the mess, we got kind of bombed."

"Thank you, and I'm glad to see that it came out and unscaved." Jaxon said with a big grin. "You mentioned your previous host, was he handsome daredevil as well?" Jaxon asked playfully.

"He was actually. Quite the ladies man. Had a bit of a reputation as well. Do you have a reputation I should know about?" Dee asked with a hint of a smirk. She was enjoying this. She tried not to let it show too much. Although, he was seriously cute.

"No reputation for being a ladies' man, but I do have a fun and wild spirit about me. Then again what pilot doesn't?" Jaxon asked playfully. He was grateful that she picked up on his charm, and she wasn't running away, but he knew he had to proceed cautiously. Her previous host was also a pilot and probably knew all the little subtlety games that pilots would play to try to see if a girl was into them.

"Well, not yet at least." Dee smiled referring to his lack of reputation. "A fighter is something I've not had any experience in flying so far. I'd love to give it a try. Perhaps you could help me there. "

"I would love to, any particular ship you're looking to fly?" Jaxon asked with a warm smile on his face. He was thinking of the holodeck first, then eventually moving to a small craft a shuttle or runabout.

"Well, there is a fighter craft I absolutely love but we don't have them on Starbase 400. Are you familiar with the Banzai? " Dee asked.

"I am, I piloted a couple of them during the academy," Jaxon said with a grin. It had been a bit since he last flew one outside of the holodeck. Starfleet has him focusing on flying starships.

"There is something about flying a fighter rather than a small runabout or a starship. In a cramped cockpit, you are more at one with the craft. You have more of an understanding of how she will handle and how she will behave with what you throw at her." Dee replied reminiscing from the memories of Jorran and his times as a test pilot. "I wonder if there is a holodeck simulation of a Banzai fighter." She exclaimed.

"There is, sounds like you already have some basic knowledge about how to be a fighter pilot but I'm more than happy to help you with any refresher courses that you might need."' Jaxon said a little too eagerly, then you knew he needed to turn it back a little. He did not want to scare her off.

"I would like that. I haven't flown anything other than the odd shuttle or runabout for some time. Not even in the holodeck. I mean, it feels real in a holodeck but deep down you know it's not and somehow that spoils it. " Dee comments.

"I believe in those situations you just have to allow your imagination to take control, sometimes that can be challenging. Because we go in with the belief that it's not real so therefore why take it seriously? Even when I'm training in the holodeck I take every flight seriously. Now what I said doesn't mean I don't like to have a little bit of fun, I'm usually a little more likely after I complete my training if I have free time to test my limits. Am I believe he needed a limit of yourself and your fighter especially if you ever get caught in a dog fight."'Jaxon said to her, not wanting to sound a little arrogant, or superficial but he just wanted her to know that if she wanted him to help he would definitely teach her properly. It didn't mean though after the blessing was over they couldn't have a little bit of fun with it.

"Well, I am certainly up for some training in the holodeck. It would be good to get back into a fighter. When can you fit me in for some holodeck time?" She asked. She was studying his face but at the same time trying not to look she was staring too intently. She couldn't help but notice his good looks, his smile and those emerald-green eyes. They seemed to draw you in like looking into a deep tropical pool. He certainly looked after himself, well groomed and with clear skin.

"I'm free most nights I get off around 16:00, so after a meal, I'm always available."' Jaxon said hoping that didn't sound too desperate. He was just trying to be relaxed with his answer and saying basically any night he's available, most likely just goes to the bar or goes around the promenade area and finds something to do for the night. What else are you going to do as a single male.

"So, maybe we could start with that. Dinner then training. I know some great places on the promenade. I hope I am not being too forward in having dinner first, " She replied.

"Dinner with a pretty lady, and someone that has an interest in flying. I think that's a no-brainer for me, to put the humans hell yeah." Jaxon said hoping he was into you over the top and arrogant with his response. He was actually super thrilled with the idea, but he was trying to turn it down a little cuz he didn't want to sound desperate.

Dee could feel herself blushing slightly as the pretty lady remark. She smiled. "Consider it a date then flyboy." she chuckled. "Meet me tomorrow ar 16:15 at the central information station on the promenade and then we can decide what food sounds good." Dee added.

"I look forward to it," Jaxon said with a smile on his face, not wanting to ruin the moment. The scene starts to fade away with the two of them talking a little bit more.
