Episode 117 - "Returning to the Mirror"
Location: SB400, Near Engineering Central Lvl 2000
Timeline: MD2 -0910hrs
ON:
Dee left the main engineering complex briefly to get a coffee. She headed to the small messhall, still on Level 2000. As she approached the doors to the messhall, she spotted someone down the end of the corridor looking somewhat suspicious.
"Excuse me, are you lost? " She called out.
The man hurriedly put away a device he was using. "Erm, you could say that yes." he said as he approached her. As he did so, she saw the face. She did her best not to react.
"What are you doing down here, this is a restricted area for Starfleet personnel only. You probably should get back to the turbolift and head back up to the promenade. I'm Lieutenant Deezell....."she paused briefly "Deezell Timurs. I see you are a Trill like myself, who are you?"
"Raekwon, Raekwon Vox. I use to have a shop on the promenade but I had to close up due to some issues " he replied.
Dee saw right through that. He had to make up that story as he probably discovered that the Gallery wasn't there any more and the information he did have on this universe's Rae was not up to date. Based on the story he concocted, it was safe to assume he didn't know the fate of the real Rae.
"Oh, I see. Can I escort you to a turbolift so you can find your way?" She asked.
He pondered the question for a moment. He was in a tight spot and would have to try again to get the item he was after, another time.
"Sure why not. " he replied.
They walked to the turbolift. As they did so, Dee managed to attach a small viridium patch to the bottom of his jacket. It was almost the same colour so it blended in well. " Ask for promenade and you should be fine. " Dee commented.
"Thanks" Rae replied as the doors closed. Once the lift was moving, Dee leaned against the walled and sighed in relief.
She tapped her combadge. =^=Vox to Roebuck. I've just encountered the mirror Raekown Vox, he confirmed who he was. He was snooping around on level 2000. Managed to coax him into a turbolift and before I did so, got a small viridium patch on his jacket. Can you track and apprehend him? =^=
Roebuck was on Level 1345 with Fleet Admiral Bremer, inside of the Advanced Starship Development labs. They had been looking over the tricorder Roebuck pulled from the false Commander Cross.
"...and Cross left two days ago aboard the USS Sutherland with the ships Starfleet Command ordered to Earth on 'detached service'." Mike was replying to Roebuck when Roebuck's comm-badge beeped.
"Very good, we'll attempt to track him from here." Roebuck replied.
"I've got him...he's doubled back and is on Level 1999." Mike added. "Vox, this is Bremer, the Mirror Raekwon is onto you, find a place to hide, Roebuck and I are on the way."
Dee tapped her combadge. =^= Crap, understood. Vox out =^=
She had to think fast. She was still on Level 2000. Where could she hide. She had to hope that he didn't have an equal knowledge of the station's layout as she did. She ran down on one the main corridors and down a side passage to a storage area. Once inside she looked around the area to make sure she was alone. The area was a bit of mess at the moment as it still contained a lot of the old parts they had been replacing with the upgrades.
She got to the far side of the large room. She pushed a button and small console slide out from the wall. She tapped a command into the console and a loud clunk was heard from beneath her feet. The under floor storage area was now unlocked. She stepped back from the console, far enough to clear the hatch on the floor.
As she was about to kneel down to lift up the hatch, she felt a strong hand grip her left shoulder. She was spun around and pushed up against the wall with her arms trapped behind her back. Raekwon was right in front of her.
"Lying, not very becoming of a Starfleet Officer is it?.....Vox. " He said with a sadistic grin on his face.
"Actually, I didn't actually lie. I omitted certain truths. Before I was joined my name was Deezell Timurs."
"So, your Raekwon is dead. Clearly my intelligence information was incorrect. No matter, you can help me get what I need. " That smile of his was starting to sicken her. The Raekwon of this universe had the potential to be like this but chose to not to follow that path. This man, on the other hand, had all of Raekwon's worse qualities but tenfold.
"I don't think so. I don't help people like you. You will have to get what you want without my help. Besides, you know they are on their way right now, the clock is ticking. " Dee replied.
"Little bitch." he exclaimed as he pulled her from the wall, opened the hatch in the floor, that Dee had only a few minutes earlier, unlocked. He then pushed her with force down into the underfloor compartment. She hit her head on a bulkhead and was out cold with a blood on the side of her head. He then closed the door. Not knowing the locking code, he made do with sliding a large heavy container over the hatch. He then attempted to make his escape.
Bremer and Roebuck beamed onto Level 2000 and looked around. They had the viridium patch on the tricorder as well as two life signs, one was now weak. Bremer moved straight in, while Roebuck looked for a way to come in from another side, so if the Mirror Raekwon tried to escape, he'd be trapped.
Mike entered the room just as Raekwon turned to leave, and Raekwon pause. He couldn't clearly see the man that stood between him and the corridor, but he assumed who it was.
"I told you I'd get the information and meet you near the beam out point." Raekwon said.
"Did you get it?" Mike asked.
"Yeah." Raekwon replied holding up a PADD.
Suddenly the door on the other side of the messhall opened. "Get on the ground! Do it now!" Roebuck called out.
"You going to do something?" Raekwon asked looking at Bremer.
Then Mike stepped forward. "Yep." He fired his phaser and stunned Raekwon.
"Who did he think you were?" Roebuck asked.
"My Mirror doppelganger escaped earlier, I'm guessing he thought I was him." Mike replied.
"Shouldn't you of led with that information earlier?" Roebuck asked.
Mike smirked and shrugged.
Roebuck scanned the room and located Vox. He moved the container from the hatch, then lifted her out.
"Bremer to Sick Bay, medical emergency on Level 2000, storage area for the Officer's Break Room and Mess."
Dee briefly opened her eyes and saw a face looking down at her. She didn't know who it was as her vision is blurry from her head injury. She felt she was in somebody's arms.
The four were soon beamed to sickbay. Roebuck laid Dee onto one of the biobeds. One of the medics was soon with them. She scanned Dee's head injury. Putting down the tricorder she began treating Dee. She gave her a hypo once she had finished with the dermal regenerator.
"She will come around shortly, but she will have concussion for a few hours. I recommend she be allowed to rest. " the medic advised.
"Ugnnnh" Dee groaned.
The medic turned. "Take it steady Lieutenant, you got a nasty blow to the head. I have healed your head injury and given you a shot to counter any lingering discomfort but you might find yourself to be lightheaded for a few hours."
"Thanks " Dee smiled. She looked at Bremmer and Roebuck. "Did we get him? " she asked putting her arms down by her sides, hands on the biobed to keep herself stable as she was feeling somewhat woozy.
Mike nodded.
"I'm going to have a little chat with him." Roebuck added
"He's in the secured examining room over here." The Doctor said.
Roebuck walked over and was passing through the forcefield. Mirror Raekwon was just waking up from being stunned.
"Damn...that was some cold blooded shi..." Mirror Raekwon started before Roebuck cut him off.
"Why are you here? How many agents are aboard the Station?" Roebuck was angry and his tone of voice made that clear.
Mirror Raekwon smirked, "Wouldn't you like to kno..."
Before he could finish, Roebuck grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the wall. The Doctor started to protest and move forward, but Mike grabbed her arm and shook his head. Mike wasn't much of a fan of Roebuck's 'aggressive interrogation' tactics, but in this case they needed answers and needed them now.
"Tell me who's behind this and what your endgame is!" Roebuck demanded.
Mirror Raekwon moved his head to the side a little, trying to get more air. "No."
Roebuck looked around and found a hypo on a tray, he picked it up with his free hand and tapped the button on the side. "This is Cortical Analeptic, it's used reinvigorate tissue in the cerebral cortex, but if there is no ailment to treat is can break down the synapsis pathways in the cortex...basically eating away your brain...and it hurts."
"The Doctor won't let you! Federation doctors swear to do no harm!" Mirror Raekwon yelled as he eyes widened.
The Doctor stood there, and after a moment just crossed her arms.
"Tell me what I want to know!" Roebuck yelled.
"Technology! We're still fighting with the Klingon/Cardassian Alliance. We need better weapons, shields, ships. We were able to recreate an interdimensional transporter used twenty-five years ago and again just a years ago..."he tried to get more air..."modified it. We're to get what information we can and recover any other operatives here and return to our universe."
Roebuck released him and stepped back. He tossed the hypo back onto the tray.
"What didn't you stop him?" Mirror Raekwon asked the Doctor has he rubbed his neck.
"Cortical Analeptic won't harm you if you're not suffering from a tissue injury to the cerebral cortex and it certainly won't harm the synapsis pathways in the cortex." The Doctor smirked.
"I'll have a Marine posted, keep that forcefield up and sedate him." Mike said.
The Doctor nodded, tapped a few buttons on the panel beside the secured examining room, and a moment later Anesthizine gas was flowing in, putting Mirror Raekwon back to sleep.
Mike then nodded to Vox, "Good work."
Mike and Roebuck then left Sick-bay. As they walked down the corridor he tapped his commbadge, "I need a Marine guard to SickBay. I also need a Tac Team to meet Commander Roebuck on Level 701 outside of Sick Bay and another to meet me on Level 350 outside of Starship Design and Construction on the double!"
