Mission: Episode 117 - "Returning to the Mirror"
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD2, 1115hrs

ON:

Bremer and T'Lar had been back in Ops for a little bit. Repair crews were working on damaged consoles and a way to better track people from the Mirror Universe, and the handful still aboard were being tracked.

They also figured out how Bremer's Mirror Universe duplicate made it into Ops undetected. He'd been imprisoned on Starbase 400 so long that any temporal anomalies had faded away. Now, with Bremer's Mirror Universe duplicate back in the Mirror Universe, if he returned he could be tracked again. They also now had a way to track beam ins and outs from the Mirror Universe thanks to scans of the device Bremer's Mirror Universe duplicate used. Thankfully, there hadn't been any other beam ins, but there also hadn't been any other beam outs. If only they could get their hands on one.

Mike had only spent a few minutes in Ops before needing to rest, so he went to his office and started to look over reports from the day's events so far. Several things popped out from the reports that Mike just didn't have answers for. One being the report from Roebuck saying he'd turned a Mirror Universe agent over to Commander MacLeod to be taken to the brig, but the brig having no record of any prisoner being detained or even seeing MacLeod. Furthermore, Mac hadn't been seen since then and wasn't answering communications but his comm-badge was active and a Marine Tac team was in route to his location on Level 2420...but why he was in the control room for the Primary Communications Array and Transmitters was a mystery in and of itself.

Then, there was the report of an odd substance that had been found in a few places. First, outside of the brig when Bremer's and Pike's Mirror Universe duplicates had escaped. Then another trace on Level 131, outside of the main Air Locks for the Internal Docking Bay. And finally one in Ops just a short time ago. After several minutes, something dawned on him that he was having a hard time believing but it fit perfectly. However before he could work things through an encrypted Priority One transmission came in. It was a secured data file that was also heavily encrypted, even the sender's information was encrypted. Once decrypted, Mike realized the events taking place on Starbase 400 were also taking place elsewhere.

Mike leaned back in his chair for a moment and sipped some warm raktijno as he thought. Answers were needed. 'Where all these things connected or were they a series of isolated incidents that just looked to be connected?' he thought to himself. There was only one way to find out.

Bremer tapped several buttons on his desk, opening a secured and encrypted channel. Visuals were disabled, so to verify he was speaking with who he intended to, Mike tapped in a challenge question. A moment later the reply, 'Bullseye' was received.

"I need you to look into something. This is hush hush, but Jarovik sent word, someone broke into Daystrom Station." Mike stated.

"Do you know who? What was taken?" The reply came in the form of simple text.

"No. Starfleet Intel hasn't released an inventory of what all was taken and if they do it'll be redacted. However, it did include mention of some kind of 'Quantum Tunneling' tech. Rumor is, someone in District Six on M'talas Prime was either involved in the theft, or is trying to fence the stolen goods." Mike replied.

"I know of someone that can help with a deep cover investigation. I'll get him in contact with someone to go deep cover on the ground" The replied read.

"Good, keep me updated." Mike replied.

"There is more." The reply read before a secured data stream was received. Mike looked it over and shook his head. "Confirmed. Starfleet is compromised. Starbase 400 in compromised." Mike replied.

Mike then sent a datafile of his own. It included a list of ships that Starfleet Command had pulled from Starbase 400 and assigned to 'detached duty' at the newly built Spacedock at Earth.

USS Sutherland (Sutherland Class - NCC-91800)
USS Thunderchild (Akira Class - NCC-63549)
USS Vanguard (Ross Class - NCC-75148)
USS Warspite (Sovereign Class NCC-74922)
USS Swiftsure (Reliant Class - NCC-90212)
USS Visionary (Sagan Class - NCC-82895)
USS Conqueror (Duderstadt Class - NCC-93303)
USS Adventurer (Constitution III Class - NCC-80008)
USS Akagi (Excelsior II Class - NCC-91944)
USS Ladny (Gagarin Class - NCC-91067)
USS Alpino (Reliant Class - NCC-90213)
USS Searcher (Pathfinder Class - NCC-97776)
USS Zantra (Duderstadt Class - NCC-93358)
USS Percival (Vesta Class - NCC-89723)
USS Ark Royal (Sovereign Class - NCC-75922)
USS Luna (Luna Class - NCC-80101)
USS Europa (Luna Class - NCC-80104)
USS Venture (Sovereign Class NCC-75306)
USS Vanguard (Ross Class - NCC-75148)

Once sent, he closed the channel then deleted all records and backups of the transmission.

Now, Mike had an answer to at least one of his questions. The Mirror Universe incursion was just an isolated incident. There was something else going on, something much bigger and it involved the whole of Starfleet all the way up to Starfleet Command and possibly the Starfleet CnC. There was no one and no where to turn to at the moment. A coverup was taking place, and only solid answers and proof would help.

Mike left his office walked back into Ops. He looked over at T'Lar, but before he could say anything the entire Station shook...

"Report!" Mike called out as he tried to keep his balance.

Petty Officer de Luca who was sitting at Communications was clearly shocked and unable to speak. Draven, who had just arrived in Ops, was picking himself up from the deck, but slipped back down, bleeding from his head. Lux had pulled himself up back into his seat and he tapped in a command.

"Oh my God." Lux finally said after a moment, but then his console exploded and he was instantly killed.

K'Wor had, who had also just arrived in Ops with Draven, was knocked to the deck, but had pulled himself back into his chair at Ops. "They...they're gone."

"Dam...damage control teams are in route to the internal bay now." De Luca finally said.

"What the hell happened?" Mike asked as he helped T'Lar to her feet.

"The...the Yorktown...exploded...she exploded in her docking berth. The explosion caused damage to several ships. Nacelles have been ripped off the Pegasus and Essex along with other extensive damage. The Lexington also suffered an explosion, over...thirty-five percent of her saucer has been destroyed and a nacelle is missing. Saratoga, Falcon, Repulse, Kearsarge, Constantinople, Steadfast, Avenger....every ship in the Station's internal bay has taken heavy to catastrophic damage." K'Wor reported as he look up at his dad. "Bay doors are offline and jammed."

Mike looked over at K'Temoc who was behind Tezu at Tactical One. K'Temoc was eyeing the sensors, but seemed to be less concerned than anyone else in the room...especially after hearing his own ship had just exploded inside Starbase 400's internal docking bay.

However before anyone else could speak Starbase 400 shook again from another violent explosion. Then another rocked the starbase and tossed people about.

Mike hit the deck hard. Some of his previous wounds that he'd neglected to have treated opened up and he was bleeding again.

"Our communications arrays were just destroyed!" De Luca reported. "I can't send or receive any communication signals."

"So were primary sensors...both sets of arrays, atop the station as well as at her bottom." Tezu added.

It wasn't an attack from outside, it was sabotage...
