Time with family

Tim entered the family quarters and removed his jacket. It had been a long hard day running repairs across the station, and upgrading key systems to meet requirements that were in place by StarFleet. Looking around he noticed that Olivia and the kids were not home yet. Walking over to the replicator he orders some hot tea and sat down on the couch as he took a sip of the hot beverage. Tim placed the beverage on the table and closed his eyes as he decided to rest a bit before the kids needed his attention.

Arriving home a few minutes later Olivia smiled as she saw Tim taking a nap on the sofa. Motioning to their twins to be quiet, she placed the three year olds in their playpen to play. It wasn’t that long until the twins birthday and she had a lot of planning to do, she had no idea what to do for their birthday’s yet.

Tim was unaware how long long he had been sleeping, but he thought he could hear some life in the families quarters. Opening up his eyes he yawned and stretched as he sat up, he reached for his tea and took a sip only to frown some because it had gone cold as he slept. Looking over he smiled as he noticed the twins playing. It was hard to believe that they were going to be three soon. He stood up and made he way over to them and kneeled down to see what they were doing. He scooped each of them up and gave them a hug and a kiss. “Daddy missed you so much today.” They giggled as he put them back down in their playpen. Pulling up one of the chairs he sat down to watch them play and was making faces as they laughed at what he was doing.

Olivia grinned as she watched TJ with their children, he was a loving father and husband. “Hey, I hope we didn’t wake you?” She smiled as she walked over.

Smiling Tim said, “Not at all, I wanted to spend time with you and the children, I am hoping that we can take a vacation at some point.”

“We can arrange one I’m sure” Olivia smiled warmly. “I’ve got plenty of leave time saved up.”

Smiling Tim wrapped himself arms around his wife, “It will be nice to get away finally. It’s been hard on all of us and some time away from this station and Starfleet will be nice.”

Olivia nodded. “Question is when are we going to go? I’ll need to book the time.”

Tim nodded, they had both been so busy on board the station and various missions that they barely had any down time, and Tim was hoping that things would start to slow down but he was thinking that it was going to stay steady and not give them a lot of time for good quality time. He smiled as he held her close. He enjoyed the time that they had in the evening and even that sometimes was not enough because many times they got called to various emergencies onboard the station.

"Agreed, we need to set aside some time to go, and request our leave I am sure that we can get it." Tim said.

“We’ll have to make sure we won’t be needed here for anything first.” Olivia grinned. “We did promise your grandmother we’d visit with the twins, so we ought to keep that promise.”

Tim nodded and smiled, “I agree. Hopefully things will start to slow down here. It’s would be nice to get the children off the station for a little bit. Once we are able to task leave we can make plans then. My grandmother keeps saying it’s time for us to visit.” Tim leaned forward to hug each of the kids in turn as they played.

Olivia smiled warmly. “We’ll make time, one way or another. Alicia is currently off station but once she’s back I’ll be able to take some leave.”

Tim smiled as he kissed Olivia, “Agreed, it’s a vacation that we have been needing for a while.” Looking down at the children playing he said, “I am going to go get changed and washed up and then we can get ready for dinner.” Turning he headed toward the bedroom, glad he had this time with his family.
