Xalanth was annoyed. What was meant to be a nice quiet morning had turned into another nightmare with a rift opening-up spitting ships out while nilly. Now he had another problem on his hands one that all of federation security knew all too well.

"Quark." He said calmly as he walked up to the ferengi who had joined a crowd of people looking out of one of the viewport.

Zark and Quark, who had just finished speaking with Tom and Vito, turned around to see the Station's Chief of Security walking toward them.

"And what can I do for you this fine day?" Quark asked for a sly smile. He'd gone toe to toe with Odo for a decade, this Dragonian wouldn't be a problem he thought.

"Can we help you Lieutenant?" Zark asked.

" I'm only going to ask this once." The lizard said pointing out the viewport as another ship sliped into the space near the station. " Did you have anything to do with this?"

Quark looked out, seeing several ships around the station. "They must of heard a Quark's Franchise was being opened and came to get drinks." He give a toothy smile, thinking about profit...since he had no idea what was going on outside of the Promenade.

As if the universe could hear him another vessel popped into existence. Xalanth rolled his eyes. Quark was mentioned in the federation security manual enough to cover eight pages, but even this seemed far beyond his capability. Not that his excuse of opening a franchise was truly belivble.

Just as he was about to reply familiar call of " Xalanth whats going on?" made him look around.

Quark wasn't sure what to say or do. He had no idea what was going on, and yet he was getting blamed.

"Don't worry about him Quark." Zark said. "He's rather new here and looking to make a name for himself by arresting someone as famous as you." Zark gave a toothy smile, hoping the sucking up would help him.

Fulvia gave him a warm yet worried smile as she hobbled over to him. She was heavily pregnant and was due in the upcoming weeks. Immeditly walking over to hold her his voice softened. " Darling you shouldn't be up and about."

Tom had watched the interaction from across the way and walked over. "Lieutenant, what's going on?"

Xalanth helped Fulvia onto a chair before turning to Tom. " We're still trying to work out what's happening. I'll ask everyone to remain calm until the station command team gives a detailed explanation."

Tom was calm, he just wanted to know if he could help. "All right." He said as he turned around to return to his restaurant.

He ignored Zark. Fame was something the lizard had never sought.

Quark had taken the time to look at the anomaly through a window. He thought the anomaly looked similar to the wormhole just beyond DS9.

"Any idea what caused that?" Quark asked.

Tom overheard Quark and look a look for himself.

"Looks like some sort of wormhole. " Fulvia said from her seat as she looked out at the scene forming outside the station.

Tom wasn't sure what to make of it. He was a old Spec Ops guy, not a scientist. He returned to his restaurant to let Vito and Tony C. know, just in case.

Quark on the other hand smiled. He didn't know what was going on either, but with more ships arounds the startbase, all he could think of was more profit. "Zark, let's get this deal signed, the renovations started, and be ready to welcome people!"

Fulvia felt a sudden stab of pain in her belly and clutched it letting off a few swear words in mango roman latin. By the time her lizard was at her side it had gone though her eyes darted to the ferengi who was looking at her with a sudden look of realisation as if he'd finally placed a face he'd been trying to figure out.

"What's going on?" Zark asked.

Quark wanted to walk away, but, stopped and just stared for a moment. "Umm, help, someone call a Doctor!"

Fulvia had steadied her breathing and the pain was leaving. " It's okay. Had worst pain in my first gladiatorial fight." She said managing to get out a smirk.

Before another rack of pain shot through her. Pain she recognised. " Xalanth the baby coming." she yelled as the lizard was at her side and scouting her up.
