Mission: Episode 113 - No One Left Behind
Location: Mess Hall, USS Ark Royal

With the duty assignments having been completed and handed out aboard the Ark Royal, Ensign Korso made his way to the Mess Hall, looking to get a few minutes of downtime with the fleet preparing to make its way out from SB400.

With the Captain missing for so long, Sam was beginning to wonder if a new CO would be assigned to the Vesta Class Starship, however, he was hopeful that maybe sometime soon Commander Solomon would re-appear or return from whatever assignment he was on.

After picking up his drink from the bar in the Mess Hall, Sam noticed a familiar face and walked over to the officer sitting at a table.

"Excuse me, sir, its Lt Xalanth isn't it?" Sam asked, wanting to be sure.

The lizard looked up from his food. " Yup that's me what can I help you with?"

"I just wanted to say hello and welcome you aboard the Ark Royal, sir," Sam said. "I recognised you from being at Commander Solomon's and Admiral T'Lar's wedding. It's finally good to meet you," Sam said. "My apologies for being forward, it's just with the Commander missing and we being assigned to the latest fleet movement, I find it a little unnerving not having him on board, as if something is missing from the crew."

"May I?" he asked, pointing to a seat at the table. "I know that the ship is due to depart soon and that Lieutenant Caveel will be in charge as he's the current XO on board. It would be nice to have a calming word with someone, just to soothe my nerves. I've only ever served on board with Commander Solomon in the centre seat."

" Go ahead it's a free fleet and I'm not going to bite." Xalanth chuckled as he gestured for the ensign to sit.

"Sir, I'm concerned for the crew's welfare whilst Commander Solomon is missing, personally I'm glad that the Admiral has assigned some senior personnel who are familiar with the crew from previous missions. I'm hopeful that will allow us all to perform to our duties whilst Commander Solomon is missing," Sam explained.

" We'll do fine. After we've done this mission we can get back to looking for the commander. " The lizard replied reassuringly.


Percy went for short little break and made his way to the mess hall. Once he entered he went over to the counter and ordered a Caro with milk and one surger cube. He didn’t like the ordinary coffee. He grabbed his drink and walked over to a table near a window. He didn’t even notice that Xalanth were also here.

Xalanth was currently staring out of the window as he fiddled with the gems on his bonding bracelet. To have barely been back with his family only to be whisked away again.

His gut was also starting to play up as well as it always did when he got nervous. " Hearing the footsteps he stoped as he saw who was approaching him." Hello there Percy isn't it? " He asked.

“Oh yes it is Hello. I didn’t see you at first. How are you, Sir?” Percy asked. Then motioned to the chair “May I?” She asked.

" Go ahead it's a free fleet after all. " Xlanth said as he looked out the window again. " Sorry thinking of my family. " He said turning his attention back o his guests.

“How Is your family?” Percy asked knowing that family is important but he himself doesn’t keep in touch as frequent as he should.

" Happily awaiting the new girl. " Xalanath replied beaming. " Can't wait to hold her in my arms and tell her how much I love her."

“Congratulations. Being away is never easy. Have decided on a name for her?” Percy responded.

" We have a few in mind. We may call her after one of my mate's sisters-in-law to really annoy them. " He said with a chuckle.

“Sounds like good plan. I myself only have a sister. Which I haven’t for a while. I keep in touch once a month with family and telling them what I am up to.” Percy said.

" Family is always important. Thankfully most of mine is back on my homeworld. makes contacting them easier. What about you Korso you have family?" the lizard asked.
