Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: 0800

Having checked her appearance in the mirror for the third time, she was confident she looked her best. She thought for a moment, 'I don't know why I am obsessing over this, its only my mother. '

She took one last look as she passed the most reflective surface near her door and headed out to the the main shuttlebay. As she arrived, the shuttle was pulling up to its docking point and lining up with the gangway.

Once it had come to a complete stop, its doors opened and various passengers began to disembark. The majority were in Starfleet uniform, reds, blues, golds. Then there were the odd non uniformed passengers.

She hoped, in this crowd she would she be able to spot her mother and then it happened. Amongst the passengers coming off the shuttle, there was a commotion inside the shuttle. 'Oh god' Deezell exclaimed under her breath as her mother in her favourite, ridiculously large feathered hat came out from the shuttle. 'Why the hat mother?' she muttered. Her mother looked up and around and their eyes made contact. Deezell waved from the upper viewing area. Her mother put her hands over her heart and smiled seeing her daughter after almost a year apart.

Soon, they were together in the upper viewing lounge in a loving embrace.

"So, Mom, how was your trip?" Deezell asked picking up her mother's bags.

"Oh you know, the usual, decent in-flight entertainment and good food. Are you settling in OK here? " She asked.

"Well, I think I am doing better than I may have done, had fate not intervened. I had not set foot on this station before and only new its rough layout from guides. But having to be joined to Vox, who's previous host, Raekwon, lived here for several years, I already know my way around, but in a civilian perspective. I have having to learn my way around in the area's not accessible to the civilian population." She answered.

"Of course. How are you coping with being joined without any real training as an initiate? " Her mother asked.

"I am doing OK. I have support from my colleagues and, if needs be, I can speak to the Symbiosis Commission. There are also other joined Trills on the station so I guess I could seek their advice too. " Deezell replied.

"You seem to be in good hands here. Lets drop off my bags, go for a walk and you can show me around." Her mother replied.

"Sure thing."

The two headed off to the quarters that had been temporarily assigned to her mother.
