Mission: Episode 111 - Merry Christmas from Starbase 400
" I'm getting fat aren't i?" Fulvia said as she ran her hand over her steadily growing belly.
" No you’re not." Xalanth said as he sat down with her gently brushing her face having had this conversation many times before. Carefully he placed the food down as his mate happily tucked into her food. Dragonian hybrids burned through their mother's calories at an astonishing rate.
Kah’lyn stood looking around for a seat, the lounge was pretty busy today. It didn’t help that she was feeling the strain of carrying a six month bump around either. Seeing Xalanth and Fulvia she made her way across to them offering a smile. “Excuse me for interrupting you, would you mind if I sat with you?”
"Of course my friend," Fulvia said gesturing to a chair. " How the extra passanger treating you?" The nova roman woman asked.
Taking a seat Kah’lyn smiled as she looked at Fulvia. “Let’s just say it’s nice to take the weight off my feet, and rest my back!” She picked up her glass and sipped her drink. “How about you?”
" Feel like she's trying to headbutt her way out." Fulvia replied with a slight grin as Xalanth placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. " Only three more months my beloved."
“Sounds like we’re not that far apart” Kah’lyn grinned. “I’m six months, humans generally have their children in nine months. I have no clue about Romulan pregnancies, or Klingon for that matter!”
" T'para had Yazar and Travla at eight if that helps. Leilani had Lersi at nine, but she was very late." Xalanth added as he pointed to each of the small gems on his bonding bracelet.
“So roughly around the same time as humans then, thank you” Kah’lyn smiled warmly. “I’m dreading to think how much time I’ll need to spend in the gym getting rid of the extra weight I’ve gained! I do nothing but eat!” She grinned picking up some fruit and popping it in her mouth.
" Well you can join in my routine and i'll help you shift the weight," Fulvia replied with a smile. " My mother created it to help the gladiatrix lose weight after childbirth."
Kah’lyn nodded enthusiastically, “I’d be honoured, thank you” She paused to eat more fruit. “So what does this routine entail?”
" Plenty of exercises and a strict diet. It's not that complicated, but it works." The ex gladiatrix explained.
Kah’lyn raised an eyebrow. “A strict diet? I can do that!” She grinned. “I just...want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you’ve both done for me! Without you I’d probably be somewhere in Romulan space by now. I can’t express what this means to me!”
" Just doing my job." Xalanth replied with a grin.
“Maybe so, but you didn’t have to trust me. You did and that means everything to me.” Kah’lyn offered her friend a warm smile. “Would you...consider being my son’s god parents, as humans call it. If anything ever happened to Croesus and myself, I can’t think of anyone who’d be better parents to my child.”
Xalanth looked at Fulvia though both of them already knew the answer. " We'd be honoured." the lizard replied. " Would you and Croesus be the new girls godparents?" Fulvia inquired.
Kah’lyn looked at Xalanth in surprise. “I can’t speak for Croesus, but I would be honoured, thank you for asking!”
" I'm sure he'll be honoured," Xalanth replied. " Forgive me for asking, but has there been any word from your father."
Kah’lyn shook her head. “I’ve tried contacting the Federation facility he was sent to, he won’t see me. To be honest I’m not sure whether to be relieved or not.”
" At least you've tried reaching out. If he doesn't want to that's his problem and his loss." Xalanth replied honestly.
Kah’lyn nodded. “To be honest I’m not sure I’d ever truly trust him. Especially not with my baby.”
" Smart move." Fulvia replied. " After my half sisters have tried to disown me or have me killed you learn to loose bad family."
Kah’lyn nodded. “That’s a good idea. I don’t think Croesus would trust my father for an instant, it makes more sense to trust in his judgement.”
" I don't think anyone would blame either of you for never wanting anything to do with the man. What he did was beyond evil." Xalanth added.
“Yes, it was” Kah’lyn sighed. “I still feel guilty for betraying Croesus, I know it wasn’t my fault but it still happened.”
" It wasn't your fault my freind. It was that creep and his pet reman. " Xalanth said ressuringly.
Kah’lyn nodded. “I know, the Counsellor’s have been quick in telling me that. I still feel it though. I know how important loyalty is to a Klingon, I’m not sure just how Croesus truly feels.”
" He loves you and your child and wants to help the both off you."Xalanth replied ressuringly.
Kah’lyn nodded. “That’s true, he’s been extremely supportive, and I love him with all my heart.”
" Than hold onto that. Never let it go and keep it with you till the day you leave this plane for the next journey. " Xalanth nooded in reply as his combadge sounded. " Sorry ladies duty calls. " He said standing up and running off to the nearest turbolift.
“That’s a wonderful man you have there Fulvia” Kah’lyn smiled warmly. “If there’s ever anything you need just call I’d be only too happy to help.”
" I'm a lucky woman to have him." Fulvia replied as she watched her mate leave feeling the pain of being apart from him. Turning to Kah'lyn she gave her a smile. " Thank you i appreciate it."
Kah’lyn nodded. “I guess I should be getting back, it’s been nice talking to you Fulvia.”
" Nice talking to you as well. " Fulvia responded as she finished her own food before getting back to work.
