Sarah looked in the mirror one more time and smiled to herself, thinking she looked good for her day with Sam.

He had promised her a fun couple days, just the two of them when they got back to the base and she was looking forward to it. There had been no problem getting them the two days off, now the entertainment was up to him.

Sam walked over to her quarters, he had been planning today's events in his mind. He hoped she appreciated the activities. Sam tapped on the intercom to Sarah's quarters.

Sarah headed over and opened the door, smiling at him. “I have been looking forward to this!” She declared. “I know you have as well.”

Sam loved hearing her voice, as she responded to him. He was grateful she personally came over to the door. With a big grin, he responded by saying. "I have, are you ready to go?" Sam asked.

“Yes,” Sarah nodded as she pulled the door shut behind her. “Let’s go!” She was curious as to what Sam had planned for them and to spend more time with him.

"I hope you like the streets of Venice. I made us a reservation in the holodecks. I wish we could go in person, but this is the next best thing." Sam suggested to her, with a warm smile on his face.

Sarah’s face lit up and she smiled widely. “I have always wanted to go there, you couldn’t have picked a better place!” She loved how Sam seemed to be so in tune with her.

"I have never been there either, but I have heard how great it is. So I wanted to share my time there with you." Sam said, realizing how corny that sounded.

Sarah reached out for his hand. “That is a dream of mine, just you and me being together and not having anything else to be concerned with but us.”

"Plus lets not forget, strolling around in venice, is a going to be nice. The two of us, walking around. Sipping whine, eating some grapes." Sam suggested to her, trying to set the mood.

“Beautiful scenery,” Sarah smiled. “Holding hands and...” she glanced at him. “Who knows what may happen.”

"I would love to find out, after you my lady. Assuming your ready to go." Sam said, with a big grin on his face. Trying to sound all cute and romantic.

Sarah loved how Sam was letting her see this side of him. On duty they were all professional and even in their off hours it was hard to start a budding romance. “I am anxious to see as well.” She said with a big smile.

Sam and Sarah both started to head down to the holodeck. "We have a three hour reservation, so we should have plenty of time to explore Venice." Sam said, with a warm smile. As they started to head to the holodeck.

"That should give us a good amount of time to see the sights," Sarah said in agreement. It was more than she thought they would have, with everything that had happened she wouldn't be surprised if everyone wanted to use them. "I feel like a kid at Christmas who was given their favorite gift ever."

"I see." Sam said, trying to see it from her perspective. He just wanted to spend time with her. He hoped, she was not expecting a gift, he did not get one for her. But he would improvise, he could take them to the promenade, and buy her something. He had the entire date, to figure out a gift for her.

“The trip to Venice I meant,” Sarah said with a smile. The way he replied seemed a little off. “I am excited to go there and you are the person I would choose everytime to be with me.” Did that sound too forward? She wondered.

"I am just giving you a little grief, its totally fine. You are not being to forward." Sam said, as he reached for her hand, as they entered the program on the holodeck.

Sarah sighed in relief. She really liked Sam a lot and she didn’t want to scare him away. Her eyes widened as they walked into the program and the scenery changed. “Wow.”’she whispered

"I had the same intial reaction too. Feels like we are on a new planet, doesn't it?" Sam asked, as they continued to look around.

“It is beautiful,” Sarah said. “I don’t even know where to start so you lead on.” She looked over at him and smiled.

"Me either, let's just head down the street." Sam said, as they started to walk down the street. The mood was calm, the air was warm but not hot. The setting was perfect.

Sarah’s eyes went back and forth as she looked around. “It feels so peaceful, like they have not a care at all.”

"It can change the perimeters of the program, if you want it to be more realistic." Sam said, thinking she may not want to see opinionated italians.

“No,” Sarah said with a smile. “I like it this way, don’t you?” She glanced at him and her smile widened.

"I do, but I did this for you. Glad you like it." Sam said, not sure why she asked then, if it did not bother her. Was she being nice, and sparing his feelings?

“I just want it to be perfect for both of us,” Sarah explained. “As much as I have been looking forward to seeing Venice, it’s more to be with you.”

"Don't lie, part of you wanted to see Venice too." Sam said, witha big grin. She would be lying if she said otherwise.

“Oh definitely,” Sarah nodded. “But only if I can share it with someone special.” Her eyes met his as she stopped and looked at him. “You.”

"Why is that?" Sam asked, wondering if she was worried about traveling alone, or if she was hopeless romantic. And wanted the full experience.

Sarah looked at him for a moment and then spoke. “I feel like we have a connection and I want to share all the things I have wanted to do with you.” Her eyes met his. “Am I being to honest here?” Maybe she was going too fast but Sarah has always been a straight shooter.

"Maybe, but I like it." Sam said, with a big grin on his face.

“Sorry,” Sarah said with a smile. “I have been crushing on you for quite a while, I need to slow down a bit.”

"What?" Sam said, with a confused look on his face. "I said I liked it, and you want to slow down a bit." Sam asked, he thought to himself, women are very cofusing.

Sarah smiled at him. “I misunderstood your answer is all. I do not want to slow down at all, I just want us on the same page.”

"Me too, don't change who you are to please me. Doing so, will change who you are. The girl I feel in love with." Sam told her, trying to express with words, how he felt.

“I will just be me,” Sarah smiled at him. “I am not good at trying to change or be someone else.” Her eyes met his. “Besides I like you just the way you are.”

"And I like you the way you are. So how did work go today." Sam asked, trying to lighten up the mood.

“It was good,” Sarah said with a smile. “Busy which I like, I am not good with being idle.”

"But some of the best things happen, when life is idle. You have more time to spend with the ones you love." Sam suggested to her. He was not saying he loved her, but trying to say that love was worth life slowing down a little and becoming idle for.

“I need to stop and smell the roses a little more.” Sarah smiled. “You won’t get any argument from me, I admit it.”

"Yes, you do." Sam said, with a warm smile on his face. Then he went on to say. "I would love to help get your life out of idle, and start living. Hell I am just as guilty of it. Sacrificing so much, to get ahead in our careers."

“Then let’s do this together,” Sarah said. “We will live it to the fullest.”

"Now your talking Baby." Sam said, with a big grin on his face. "Do what exactly?" Sam asked, wanting to make sure they were on the same page.

“Living life to the fullest,” Sarah said with a smile. “Enjoying our downtime and making it about us and things unrelated to our work.”

"Unrelated to our work, baby don't forget we are special operations. Our work sadly is our lives. We keep getting constantly deployed." Sam pointed out to her. "Right now I am happy for little moments like this. Times we can share together." Sam pointed out to Sarah.

“Well I was meaning when we were in down time,” Sarah explained with a smile. “Off our missions and on leave. Grab these moments and make them special.”

"I plan on it, I have learned never to take anything for granted. And when an opportunity like this occurs, to seize it." Sam said, with a warm smile on his face.

“We have like minds,” Sarah leaned over and kissed him. “I have been wanting to do that since you came over.

Sam embraced her kiss, with a hint of passion. He was trying to control his hormones, in this very public place. "Sorry if I gave you the impression, that you could not do that sooner." Sam said, with a big loving grin on his face.

“You didn’t,” Sarah smiled at him. “I was enjoying our converstion and waited for the right moment.”

Sam just smiled as the scene starts to fade away. He leaned in for another small kiss.

Sarah kissed him back, looking forward to their evening.
