Mission: Mission 78 - Colonial Uprising
Location: Bridge
Timeline: now

Andrew was sitting in the centre seat. The Captain was off duty, and the ship was on night shift.

He looked around the bridge, the dimmed lighting making it seem quiter than it actually was. He looked forward to the view screen again, the stars were still streaking past in their usual fashion at warp speed, "tactical on viewer".

Now instead of stars the viewer was showing new objects. the position of the Essex was displayed on one side of the screen and Kaleb IV on the other. But now beside it the tactical screen was showing starbase 400 as well.

"Helm, eta please?", he asked. He must have been more tired than he realised, because the request came out like a barked command. The helm officer did not appear to notice and responded in his usual fashion, "A little over four hours to dropping out of warp and just over six hours to arrival at starbase, sir".

Andrew smiled, "Thank you lt. Steady as she goes".

In four hours the captain would be back on the bridge, and he would be off duty, hopefully asleep. Either way it will be the captain who takes the ship inside the starbase perimeter.

He tapped his com badge, and quickly recorded a duty log, recording the time of arrival. He then sat back in the centre seat, "Normal vew on viewer, please" and Kaleb and the starbase disappeared to be replaced by the familiar stars streaking across the view screen.
